Definitely the secret service was negligent. in my opinion it came from the top too not secure that rooftop. The top wouldn't give the ok to shoot the shooter once the secret service agents were aware of the his presence. This was a hit placed on Trump by the demokkkrat party. They've tried everything for nine years and have failed every time. They couldn't risk losing this election and they knew they had lost after the debate.

They've been covering Biden's cognitive decline since 2019. It was obvious to everyone with an ounce of common sense and critical thinking skills that Biden wasn't all there mentally. After the debate it was so obvious that they have been covering it up. Something like that doesn't just happen overnight.

They know KUMala is too big of an idiot to win this election and they are desperate as hell.

Trump threw a monkey wrench into their plans when he was legitimately voted into office in 2016. They thought they had a lock on the election with hillary. Then Trump completely and thoroughly embarrassed hillary on the world's stage. They couldn't take a chance on losing this election like they did in 2016.

Liberals will try to make this a conservatives issue cuz this guy was a registered Republican. What they don't understand is he registered as a Republican, but voted demokkkrat too screwups the primaries. That's the only reason he was a registered Republican and there are thousands more doing the same thing.

Either it was negligent or spread to thin. Because of them knowing minutes beforehand I am leaning it was on purpose.

Back in April, they tried taking all secret service from Trump by making a law that if you're under investigation or convicted, you lose it until it's cleared up.

Police snipers aimed at assassin before he fired. According to some source they saw him 3 minutes before he started to fire. I guess they waited for fire order, that didn't came.
    There two options.
    - Commander of security assumed this is one of his guys on this roof.
    - Some three Letters organization wants to eliminate Trump and allowed assassin to reach this position and to open fire.

It's good possible Trump will cancel his campaign for presidency.

All of the three letter organizations want Trump dead. He knows all of their dirty secrets. All of their corrupt shit, especially in Ukraine. He also knows that they are all involved in the sex trafficking worldwide and all of the children that they're responsible for sex trafficking and sacrificing.

Our government is full of satanists. They are pure evil. Most people can't wrap their minds around this fact. So they immediately deny that it's possible. Although the proof is right in front of our faces, we just have to be willing and open minded to see them.

The rank and file are awesome, but the leaders suck shit. They never had enough Secret Service for that event. They asked for more, but they were denied. The bitch in charge will have to go before Congress and explain. This is not acceptable. Can you imagine that the audience could see the sniper, but not the Secret Service?

    Yes and no.

The department of homeland security repeatedly denied the Trump campaign’s requests for additional security at these events. Also I believe with the right determination and planning it’s unfortunately possible for assassins to evade security if they really wanted to.

But there were bystanders were yelling at the local police and secrets service detail that a man was crawling on top of a roof and he clearly had a rifle. He got up there quick and fired shots minutes later. They did drop the ball on not responding fast enough to that to that threat. I wonder if a secret service sniper needs “clearance” to take out a threat prior to them firing shots. But they had to see through a rifle scope that this guy was armed and pointing his rifle right at Trump.

Anyway the counter sniper took out the shooter fast. The shooter likely had a full magazine and if he continued could of possibly succeeded and/or injured/killed more innocent bystanders. I give absolute props to the counter snipers expert response to that.

Anyway expect very heavy security detail at future political rallies and events. They will probably be all indoors too.

The USSS sniper does not need clearance to shoot, but squeezing the trigger is a huge decision. The USSS sniper likely keyed his radio to ask if the gunman was a protection asset and was awaiting a response when the gunman opened fire.

They were absolutely negligent. There is no excuse for allowing someone with a rifle to be on top of a building within 400 ft of the president. That never should have happened. They need to have a shake up in the Secret Service STARTING FROM THE TOP!

Guess who the Secret Service reports to? That's right Alejandro "open borders" Mayorkas, who was impeached in the United States House of Representatives for dereliction of duty and should have been removed from office, but the Democrats blocked the attempt to remove him.

Rank and file Secret Service people are good. As with the FBI and the CIA, it's the leadership that is corrupt.

My understanding is that the detail that guards President Trump loves him.

I agree. I have no issue with the agents that shielded Trump with their own bodies or the sniper in the roof who was likely in a world of confusion as to who was on the other roof.

I think however, that the woman who was attempting to shelter President Trump with the other agents is a problem. She left him completely exposed to a sniper. The other agents were able to successfully shelter him but she could not. I don't necessarily blame her, she was putting herself in harm's way and I think her heart was in the right place.

But it's clear that she was not physically qualified for that job.

So one of the things that needs to be investigated is whether or not this DEI crap that the Democrats are pushing into the hiring practices in law enforcement agencies is damaging their effectiveness. And I think the answer is almost certainly yes. So again I don't blame the agent, it's not her fault, I blame the leadership all the way up to the president. DEI needs to be taken out of the hiring practices. When Biden came in he vowed to do just the opposite and make it the central theme of hiring. That's despicable and it needs to stop.

They are putting Americans lives, and national security, at risk with this DEI crap.

The House of Representatives can impeach a president or a member of his cabinet. They impeached Mayorkas. That means he was found guilty.

But in order to remove him, the Senate has to do that. But the Senate is controlled at this time by Democrats. And they would not vote to remove him. They want open borders and he is their man. It is the Democrats that are destroying this country.

I would classify Mayorkas as a traitor. He should be tried for treason (and since Biden is his boss so should he). He is doing the bidding of foreign adversaries against the United States and putting this country at possibly the biggest security threat it has ever faced.

There is literally an entire army full of military aged young men who have infiltrated America across the Mexican border since Biden and Mayorkas opened it up from places like China and terrorist Muslim countries of the Middle East and other dangerous nations that have indicated destructive intent towards the United States. We know there are tens of thousands of them that are now inside our borders, but don't know exactly how many, what they are plotting, or where they are.

This is likely the biggest threat to the US national security and the safety of Americans in history. And these two are directly responsible along with the Democrats who support them.

I hope that American citizens are finally waking up and vote them all out in November.

Having been BOTH a police officer and a WH Photographer with Top Secret clearance during the Carter admin... I've seen firsthand, the depth of Secret Service Security... there is NO 'perfect' security coverage,
especially with Trump's LOVE of 'grandstanding' exposure!
(That SAME egotism got Pres. Kennedy in the limousine in Dallas)~

Only sheer luck-of-circumstance and windage saved Trump
from a 'classic'... temple "one head shot/ no reflex" kill shot.

Unfortunately, there remains the collateral casualties,
my condolences to the 'innocents' families. :(

There is no excuse for not securing that building that was less than 150 yards away from the stage. And there is no excuse for not spotting the shooter on the roof when people in the audience did.

There is something real fishy about this.

I'm just glad that the shooter wasn't a better shot or Trump would be as dead as JFK. It was a really, really close call.

I always thought the nominee's, whether one's an incumbent or not, got the same protection. I was surprised to hear Trump gets the "basic" protection (whatever that means) but I'm guessing it's a fraction of what a sitting president gets. I think the two major nominee's should have equal protection. I know cost would be a major issue but it's just my thoughts.

@laciejordan. Relative to what the government sends on hyperbole, the cost of protection are insignificant. Remember, the USSS director wanted to remove ALL protection from Trump, but Congressional pressure stopped her. Democrats wanted this to happen.

In the Army I thought 150 meters was almost a gimme shot. Easy as we often shot at 250 to 300 meters without a scope.

The investigartion will blame the local white straight male cops and then pass the buck the Secret Service until they find more straight white guys to take the fall. Secret Service DEI leadership will be fine as they bravely state that they will hold people (white guys) accountable. The independent review will be tainted of course.

Clearly they were. At a minimum, there is no way that there should have been a rooftop with a ladder which an assassin could access. That rooftop and access to it should have been guarded by local or state police if the Secret Service didn't have the manpower (which given the obvious threats to Trump it should have and didn't).

Since you seem so opposed to violence and / or death in general, then do you suppose Donald Trump warrants greater protection than other people? Do you believe it right that others should put their lives on the line to protect him? Do you believe he would extend such a courtesy for anyone?

For that matter, do you hold any opinion on them killing the shooter? Did HE deserve to die any more than Trump in your view? Where do you draw your lines?

I'm not going to debate this with you. The reason why the secret service exists is because presidents more than 100 years ago had assassination attempts made against them. How many times have people tried to assassinate you or I? Unless you're involved in the military or in criminal gangs, likely zero!

The secret service voluntarily protects politicians. They wouldn't choose that line of work if they weren't okay with that risk.

Trump is literally standing in the line of fire for the American people.

My opinion on the shooter is I wish he suffered more before he died. He had explosives in a van and was going to also kill civilians.

People aren't going to "assassinate" us because "assassinate" is for celebrities. Regular folks just get murdered, not "assassinated". It is similar enough as makes no difference in practice. And unfortunately nobody has murdered me yet. I can but hope.

In any case... what Trump does is cause suffering. Killing ends suffering. If you oppose to the latter more than the former, I'd be seriously worried. I can't pretend to know what kind of messed up ethics you subscribe to, but what that shooter did isn't even close to how much harm Donald Trump has caused. I don't oppose to the guy being killed as I don't oppose to anyone being killed, as death is as much a mercy as a solution... but very little if anything was solved by killing the shooter. Killing Trump would have solved vastly more.

By your logic people who don't like Biden should kill him since they think he is a huge cause of suffering just like you think Trump is. That leads to a third world country where political assassinations happen. You are not thinking ahead enough.

I was struck by the small size of Trumps Secret Service Detail on the day.

The Secret Service Detail that day was under strength due to it being reduced by the 'Biden' Admin to bolster Jill Biden's Secret Service Detail.

Homeland Sec Mayorkas has been denying requests in recent months for an expanded Secret Service Detail for Trump.

Explain why the Secret Service let Trump get his photo opportunity, fist in air and yelling "Fight! Fight! Fight!" instead of doing what they're paid to do... They're supposed to shield the president's body with their own.

Secret service lapse is simple , trump was denied extra security by the biden admin. Also a good case for why DEI is a bad thing. Also before trump got up and gave his epic photo op you can hear the secret service agent's radio say all threats neutralized. So at that time trump was safe and it was the responsible thing to let him say a few words to calm the crowd and prevent panic.

Now since you wanna toss out conspiracies I'll chime in a bit to. The following is my opinion nothing I can back up with fact.
The powers that be meaning large businesses and certain government agencies including the secret service wanted trump dead and hence all the security lapses. But by the grace of God those losers shot at the king... and missed.

He would have died if he did not feel like turning his head a certain direction at a particular moment. Are you insane?

They need drones, they need to block off roadways and they really need to take the security seriously or he is going to die.

He should frankly get a taste tester to avoid being poisoned, stay away from any vehicles that are not his because they could be filled with explosives and he should anticipate being framed for fake crimes such as a big cyber attack by Russia that may be faked soon by the Democrats and then blamed on the Republicans.
