Because we're social creatures. Humanity is like a giant anthill we rely on each other to thrive. And what others think of us affects our life. At least if you want a partner and a social life. If you want to be alone then it doesn't matter. But most people at some point in their life want to be social. You can have long phases where you don't feel like dealing with people but I'd say it's rare to find someone who is anti social their whole life. So it's programmed into us that when others react negatively to what we say or do that we feel bad because it can affect our survival or our standing in whatever group we're in. But at the same time if someone is too desperate for approval we also see that as a sign of weakness. That's just how we survived

They have no life, they feel miserable and want others to feel like them. Plus, there are many people who think they're the world's police. They think they have the right to tell others what to do. One of my sister's is like that. She spends the entire day talking about other people's lives. It's so sad and ridiculous! 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🙄🙄
