That's really tough because both are in their own ways. Kennedy is legit crazy. Like he found a dead bear, skinned it, intended to collect it's meat but had a flight to catch so he dumped it in Central Park that became a mystery for a decade. He had worms eating his brain. Trump on the other hand is just a narcissistic, womanizing, rapist asshole with oncoming dementia. He does have his own bad stories, but none as weird as Kennedy.

Kennedy is actually sane compared to Trump. Kennedy isn't a perfect candidate I 100% agree with, but you'll never find a candidate you 100% agree with. Failed Ukraine proxy war and potential war with Russia is an important issue, and currently Kennedy has the best position.

Actually it does, if get clean and stay clean, your brain heals over time. Amount of it takes for the brain to recover, depends on the individual, the drugs used and effect on the brain.

People keep repeating that drugs will cause brain injury. That is contrary to my experience as a neuropsychologist. What drugs do you people think will cause brain injury and what is the mechanism for that?

@msc545 I grew up in the 80s and a lot of my friends did a lot of acid. They said it was harmless but they all changed. Its hard to describe but to me it was like a chemical lobotomy. Some of them never really did much with their lives. One guy I knew decided not to go to college. He was a pretty smart kid but he took a job at a nursery so he could grow his own pot. It was sad.
They all thought that they were enlightened, it looked to me that they were docile.

This is not always bad and in some cases psychedelics can be useful in treating mental disorders as you probably know or should know at this point. For instance, at this time there is a growing movement to use ketamine and psilocybin, and in some rare cases LSD in the treatment of otherwise refractory mental disorders. In particular, ketamine has been well established as a good treatment for depression. Psilocybin has been used in the treatment of various mental disorders with Good results. The use of LSD is very controversial and I would not cite it as being particularly successful although people are working on it.

"last one to know", I have to disagree, he was one of the few democrats (that I encountered here), that before Biden dropped out, mentioned there was something mentally wrong with him. We need more people like this on both sides, who aren't afraid to state the truth. Its' not just Democrats, it's both sides, that live in their own little fantasy and refuse to believe anything negative about their own side, which is part of the reason government is broken and things never get done, like actually taking back control from defense contractors.

Nobody really knows how exactly it works but suffice it to say that it must have a profound effect on the brain. The acute effects subside after a day or two but anything that can effect the brain like that is sure to cause permanent changes.
Back in the 80s when acid was everywhere I knew a guy who was a psychiatrist. He went to the same gym that I went to. He was telling me about recently seeing some patients , all young people , that were seeing him because they had taken acid and after a few times they felt like they all lost the capacity to be happy.

I got hit by a car once. It hurt like hell and i limped for a week or so and I was okay after that but still it bothered me if I moved a certain way or overdid it training at the gym. It is sort of like that. Thats just the way things work.
