Why is the political gender gap so large especially in the younger generation?

Right-wing media is very online. It has to be as one of its main strategies, for cost effectiveness, is to have one or two paid trolls create thousands of accounts to exploit algorithms and give the appearance of a vibrant community that believes a certian crazy thing. For many of the same reasons men are drawn to online dating sites they are also drawn to online political discussions.

Whereas women generally prefer real life interaction. And the central trick of right wing misinformation (creating a bubble) isn't nearly as plausible in real life. Online, it is relatively easy to do this as long as you keep them coming back, and right wing media has that pretty well nailed down at this point, for men.

A lot is down to the number of different parties to vote for, people having different priorities at each age of life, an 18 yr olds view on what is Important is different to them at 50. The same holds true for gender, however with all parties having a reasonable coverage of both genders it’s less of an issue. I think at one point 3-4 of the political parties were lead by women, so the image and points made by those parties come over better.

Because the political gap is so large. When one side is demonizing an entire gender with rhetoric and policies straight out of the KKK playbook, it's only natural that would turn them off.

Bluntly, asking men to vote Democrat these days is like asking Jews to vote Nazi. Not late Nazi, but early on, when they're trampling on your rights and telling everyone you're subhuman.

When was the last time that you saw right wing advertisement aimed at women? Combine that with one of the biggest recruitment tools being guys who can't get laid and/or feel entitled to sex from women such as both the incel and alpha male movements.

Simply put, you won't get any new support if you dont even put in any effort on growing it.
