Like everyone some people can't look around them and see what they can do with the things around them. Yet some people can look and gather what they have and build something with what they have.
I was always under the impression that those who think outside the box have a form of higher intelligence sort of like how people are good with words etc... Don't get me going in I. Q. because that is a very old and obsolete form of measurement of intelligence.
When you consider kids with learning disabilities as being well stupid, some are yes but most have altered their life in a way that focuses on other area's that they excel in. No body can't be good at everything and that's a fact. So realistically those people who have creative minds would you consider them any different from the avg bloke?

There is no accurate way to measure intelligence, let’s make that clear.
Creative thinking and finding new perspectives when the time calls for it is indeed a very liked trait and very useful in a goal-driven society, like that guy who came up with the argument Disney is now using to try and take a wrongful death lawsuit to arbitration based on the spouse downloading a Disney+ account 2 years prior and deleting it after a free trial. That’s very creative, even considering how heartless it is.
But it’s no more a sign of “above average” intelligence as it is just relative intelligence. Someone was able to see a solution you didn’t that one time, and another time you were able to solve a riddle before they could. And as it is with learning disabilities, in many cases it’s simply a matter of what you focus on. Kids are given these diagnoses in school because they’re unable to learn through these 200 year old teaching methods that were made to churn out factory worker-consumers, with standardized testing and focusing on subjects that may have no relevance to their futures at all. But if you were to ask them about their favorite things? Suddenly they’re a fountain of information, a living encyclopedia dedicated to that subject. They’re not stupid, they just pay attention to the things they enjoy and school isn’t always a place to focus on learning about things one enjoys.
Intelligence isn’t any greater or smaller based on the individual, it’s all just relative.
I think so, honestly
