What's the biggest blunder you've ever made?

I don't know if it's my biggest blunder, but it was during a meal, there were of course people I didn't know, and I was talking to a man, the conversation was good etc...

I'm a person who does a lot of irony and I do a lot of black humor, and at one point I said something pretty harsh about people who have cancer, of course it was humor but it was pretty hard humor, and the guy I was talking to and to whom I told the joke about cancer, had cancer himself.

I didn't know , but in the end we kept talking.

Professional: I always shut someone's main water off from the street if I have to work on PVC plumbing. Client had a failed PRV that needed to be replaced. In this case the house was ~1 mile from the street so I decided to risk it so I didn't have to walk or drive down. Client had recently encapsulated his crawlspace for $20,000. So he asked me to be especially careful with it and wear shoe covers etc while in there and insisted on watching. I tried to shut off the water from his main, but the PVC was brittle and snapped off at the wall. I had to run to the street knocking him out of the way because he couldn't craw fast enough. By the time I was able to drive down and shut the water off the crawlspace had ~6 inches of water flooded. Taught me a good lesson.

Interpersonal: My uncle is gay and we went out to dinner one night when I was ~15 with his boyfriend and my dad. We were talking about games, and I explained we frequently played manhunt and some other games in neighborhood. I forgot the name of one. I explained it was like football, but not quite. You tackle whoever has the ball and they try to shuffle it off to someone else. I looked up in the air straining every cell in my brain for ~30 seconds before I finally got it and burst out, "SMEAR THE QUEER". In the middle of the restaurant. Neighboring tables looked over, My dad was guffawing, my uncle's boyfriend started talking about homophobia... It was quite the experience.

Yeah but what you think is a blunder. . it might have been what he needed to hear because of his diagnosed of cancer sometimes you have to hear that to bring you out of it you have to accept things to get over them I don't think that was a blender I think that was probably something that was needed at the right time at the right moment I would be thanking you if I was him it's things that we think that are blenders that turn out to be one of the best things in the world if you really look at it in the right manner not everything in this world is negative when we do something like that there is always a positive if we look deep enough I've had many moments like that and I can either be embarrassed or laugh about it that's somewhere down the road depositive came out of it and it's just who we all are we are used in different ways in different avenues whether it be positive or negative but it's always for a reason and it's usually for a good reason

I accidentally insulted someone's mother😂 There were these two Greek ladies I was talking to on Facebook, and they would often post photoshopped pictures of themselves and each other. So when they posted a picture of their mothers, I thought that they had photoshopped themselves to make themselves look old, and I left a comment saying, "Damn you Greeks age fast!"😂

One of the women straight up blocked me, the other one confronted me about how I'd just insulted her mother and said if I do something like that again I'm getting blocked. I tried to explain to her that I only wrote that 'cuz I thought it was a photoshopped picture of her and her friend, and if she's gonna block me to go ahead and block me 'cuz it looks like her friend alresdy did. She wasn't having it, so I decided to just block her and leave it at that😂

Leaving the womb...

I had free food and housing. No need for clothing, linens, furniture, appliances, or transportation. No utility bills. A warm, quiet, dark, safe environment.

What I described above is like winning the lottery in the real world!

Why would anybody want to give that up?

We learn from our mistakes. One time, I inadvertently shut down a rail transit system during morning rush hour. Trains were stopped for 30 minutes until I got them going again.

@KostasKouvalis I had a boss once, who always told people, "If you don't make an occasional mistake, a big one, you're not doing anything worthwhile." I had some help in this "mistake" with the more important thing being how quickly I and others recovered from it.

FYI... it was many years ago, the location will remain unnamed. It made the nightly news, but was quickly forgotten.
