FYI... I've made a few mistakes, here is perhaps the biggest one...

While troubleshooting an issue with a computer system that my project team had installed, I once inadvertently shutdown a rail transit system during morning rush hour at a major European city, causing all the trains to stop. Fortunately, I quickly recognized my mistake and got the system (and trains) back up and running in less than 30 minutes, It made the local news and was a headline on the next day's newspaper.

I don’t really make big mistakes. The first that comes to mind is handling my wiener after eating Buffalo wings. I washed, but apparently not well enough. That’s a hard lesson to learn from experience.


I have made a lot of deliberate, bad decisions in my lifetime, but that’s not what a mistake is. I no longer subscribe to the idea that every deliberate choice with bad consequences is a “mistake”. That’s a copout. People need to grow up and own their bad choices.

I got into a college program with no money to back me up. I thought I could earn enough money working part time and full time through the summers and the few thousand dollars that I had saved all the time while going to college full time. I wasted almost 4 years of my life and busted my ass for nothing.

Prolly not finding self-acceptance and daring to be me at an early age.

And then there was that embarrassing incident at the bar with the tequila and the chocolate covered strawberries back in college but I'm not telling you that one.

And I'm still young. I'm sure I've got plenty more mistakes to make but it's all a learning experience. 😊

Hurt and embarrassed I quickly returned home and for a long time had many issues trusting men and did many things I would call not so smart.

The biggest mistake in my life was Debby. Our marriage and much later divorce happened many decades ago, and she is now dead, but my life would have been better if I had never met her.

It's tough. Going into a mental spiral and ruining my first solid job. Staying in my hometown after graduating college. Joining high school wrestling, where a bad head injury occured. Not saving the money my parents left me. My life is a trail of mistakes to be fair.
