It's beyond terrible and would have awful effects on savings, investment, and innovation, especially since capital gains taxes are not indexed for inflation. And the longer the assets are held and then taxed, the greater the percentage of inflation in the gains. Increases in asset prices due solely to inflation aren't really gains.

Taking unrealized gains will depress the current and future value of all financial assets.

Why not chase the rest of industry out of America? These two morons have already set America back 20 years at least.

When all the good paying jobs leave the country who is going to be left to finance all their stupid little projects? Do they think illegal aliens will pay enough taxes to doit? Or maybe just keep printing money.
