I witnessed another woman become uppity today. Is this the start of disaster to come?

I was at Panda Express. They seemed understaffed and the lady serving behind the counter was trying to assist others in the line as well. The entitled black young woman with pink hair in front of me copped an attitude and I fired back. I told the lady behind the counter to go ahead and help her because she is obviously in a hurry. The black woman became bitchy towards me and I just stood my ground. She angerly grabbed her bagged food and left.

I am thinking the day will come when one of these people will lose their temper and try to assault me and I will subdue that person quick right on the spot.

My response: One woman (who happens to be black) having an attitude, probably from a bad day getting antsy doesn’t mean the world is coming to an end. Secondly, what does it matter her race / gender? I’ve met some pretty entitled arrogant men on line yet the world doesn’t cease to be. I hate Karens and Darens equally, though how this is phrased doesn’t make me want to play gender/race games. I stand my ground that all people are capable of being weird, all people can be aggressive/antsy, and all people are capable of just getting too sensitive over fast food (you seem like one since you angrily typed this tirade out for some sympathy)

Bottom line, best to stay within your lane and let people be. Maybe she would’ve calmed down if you didn’t strike back at her. If you have nothing good to say, don’t say it. Best left untouched. I would give this advice to the rude woman too, two wrongs don’t make a right.

I guess. I am just noticing a change of pace and scenery around here, and I grow more concerned as the years progress. But no place will remain a paradise forever I guess. Places change for each generation, and I either have to adapt or move. People around here are just becoming more outward with their tempers and aggressions. But I can also pick up on the "clientel" we are getting around here. When these areas rapidly constructed apartments, it brought people from everywhere. I would guarantee most people here are transplants that haven't been here most of their lives.

Though doesn’t justify two wrongs since two wrongs don’t make a right. I’m one of the ‘new’ generation though I know a thing or two about what makes this generation better than the older one and some qualities I see in the youth of today that old folk also had though seem to forget about. Point is, just adapt or move as you say and I agree. Adapt or move, I choose to adapt so I can move.

Let her have all the attitude she wants, and cause a big scene — doesn’t mean you have to react, get involved, or stand your ground (whatever that means). If some crazy loses their temper, be sure not to lose yours. I highly doubt it’ll lead to assaulting you, especially if you keep your cool. De-escalate is always the best choice & shows strength.

Because those who live in the ghetto and low-class environments tend to be black or minority. I believe in addressing poverty and disparities, but mixing these people into other areas without addressing the dangerous and alarming behaviors and mentalities is not the answer.

Yes and no. You can sort of scan the environment and identify what it is becoming. If there is a major influx of illegals and rough-looking people like, you know to remain vigilant. You have to understand this area I grew up in consisted of well-mannered upper-middle-class families. They started building all these apartment dwellings, then everything started to take a turn.
