There's no reason to go out of your way to shame fat people, but also no reason to give them the time of day when it comes to dating, sex, advertising your products, etc. Let them be who they want to be, and just keeping focusing on what is attractive to you. If a fat person wants to model for your product tell them tough shit get lost. If a company uses fat people to push their product, tell them no thanks go find someone else to buy your product. Form relationships with people you find attractive and ignore the ones that you find unattractive. They will get in where they fit in or make an effort to lose weight if they want more attention. There no reason to make a fuss about it. People are going to be who they are going to be and you really can be pretty passive about it. If you use the good looking attractive models and your competition uses ugly fat diverse models, you will hit your target market easier and they will struggle financially and go out of business. If they want to destroy themselves, shut up and let them.

    1. I hate callings things ____phobic. It is a not very subtle attempt to suggest that anyone who disagrees with your opinion is suffering from a mental illness. We are all entitled to our opinions.

    2. I am not attracted to fat women and I would never date a fat woman. I think they look awful.

    3. I also do not chase after fat women to call them names or laugh at them. But if someone asks my opinion, they will get my honest opinion.

I don't think we have to be mean to them but I don't think people should be encouraged to be overweight either. A lot of people tell overweight people that they are fine how they are, and all that. That's not true though, it's not healthy and doesn't only cause problems for them but others. So yes although I don't think people should be made to think it's ok to be larger, we also don't have to be mean either, yet encourage them to lose weight

insulting people for their weight is no good but we shouldn't praise it either because this is ways more dangerous though we should not body shame healthy weight people either (in the 2000s healthy people were shamed for being fat because of the whole super skinny trends).

Calling opinions "fatphobic" does not begin a discussion in good faith because, among many other reasons, "fear" (=phobia) is almost never the relevant the emotional or mental state of those stating such opinions. I'll refer to the issue instead as deciding whether "more fat is better" or " more fat is worse."

Usually it's the former, in my opinion. Yet my impression of society today is that it embraces and even encourages it (?). The culture of girls striving for slim physiques has instead been shamed, even though it remains alive in elite circles where people are honest about what they really want.

Personally, I think most people would be healthier if they ate less and lost weight. I also think they would become more attractive by many arguments, both subjective as well as objective.

I don't agree with straight up being mean and insulting fat people.. That being said "fat-phobia" is a completely silly term in general.. Just a term to demonize and vilify anyone who doesn't agree that being far is healthy and beautiful.

It's been drilled into us that fit and youthful is the goal so it makes sense that the opposite would be avoided. I don't know if I would call them fat phobic as a phobia replies a irrational fear and the anxiety of becoming or are fat is definitely rational.

No it's way over blown and the media now absolutely coddles ugly lazy fat people to think they have a disease. Are their actual diseases like thyroids for one example? Yes of course. Is that anywhere near half the reason the US is fat? No, not at all. McDonald's is more responsible.

People in the US (on average, generalized) don't walk anywhere, don't exercise, work desk jobs, and eat garbage that tastes good and they wonder why they're fat. It's literally WALL-E

So she's getting healthy because she was shamed otherwise she'd be getting bigger and they'd have to roll her on to stage.

I don't shame anyone, but "body positivity," i. e. , worshipping fat broads because they're fat broads (few folk worship fat boys) is 100% BS and contributes to the health problems many Yankees (and increasingly, other people worldwide) face. I'd certainly NEVER date a fat broad !!!

Society always has a double Standard about something. I don't see a problem especially since some over weight people are more healthy than this people

shaming people is not cool. Pointing out that obesity is not healthy is not fat-phobic or fat shaming.

We dont need to shame them, but we shouldn't support it either. USA has a health and obesity issue as is, we shouldn't treat it like it's a good thing, when it's not medically healthy.
