Do employers ever give a two week termination notice?

You’re expected to put a two week notice so they can find someone. But many times when someone’s terminated it’s a immediate decision.

I think giving someone two weeks unless it’s for something serious would be great. Number one giving someone time to find a new job as well as give them time to find someone new. Whether it’s just a lay off because of financial reasons, poor performance, or other things that aren’t like theft, serious insubordination, sexual harassment, things like that. Why not give someone a two weeks notice.
