Russian president Vladimir Putin endorses Kamala Harris and the Democrats in the US election. Is it any surprise?

To some who claim Trump is the Russian asset I am sure it would be. But to me its not entirely a surprise. The dems have been pretty hands off on letting him have his wars. They fund Ukraine enough to keep it going of course since it will make a ton of money but they know there is no winning it and Russia knows there is no winning it. Pretty reliable factor for Putin.

Trump is hard to predict because he has been very clear he's ending the war on day one but he hasn't said how. He may have some blackmail tactic on Russia that will force their hand or he has a deal that is very favorable to Russia and he's going to force Ukraine to take it by defunding them. Its hard to tell which one of those it is.

Now its possible Russia knows that whatever he is probably going to use and would rather keep things as it is. Its also possible Russia knows that whoever they advocate for is seen as the bad guy and does it in an attempt to help Trump win the election.

Ultimately since we can't trust Russia to be honest on this one we can't really take it at face value in general. So I do discourage people from using this as a gotcha other than rebuttals. If a democrat accuses Trump of being a Russian asset feel free to throw this back at them since your then combatting a weak argument with a similarly weak rebuttal that is appropriate. But I wouldn't bring this up as a debate tactic since its ultimately a weak argument.

I don't think it's a weak argument at all that President Trump was the toughest president on Russia in modern times when he was in office. He put sanctions on Russian oil that punished anyone who bought it. That brought Russia to the brink of bankruptcy. He proceeded with missile and defense deals Eastern Europe that infuriated Putin.

He's the only president in the last three under whom Putin did NOT invade Ukraine.

The Harris Biden administration undid all of the sanctions and Russia has made billions of dollars on oil sales that they would not have made if Trump was president and is using it to fund the Ukraine war which also never would have happened if Trump was president.

I think that's one of the best arguments in Trump's entire arsenal and he should use it like a battering ram.

Not only that but the sanctions caused us oil exports to skyrocket putting the money in the pockets of Americans instead of the Russians and Iranians. While Russia and Iran teetered on the brink of bankruptcy, unable to start any wars under Trump, America prospered like never before from that brilliant strategy.

It's a powerful devastating argument against the Democrats and their America last strategy.

I mean using who Russia is claiming to favor is as strong of an argument as someone's trust that Russia means it truthfully. Which is usually very weak.

But yes, good points on the economic factors. The US doing well is bad for russia.

Okay, I don't disagree with you. It's really a minor point. But I think it's obvious that Putin would prefer Harris over Biden by a long shot.

And I think it's important to debunk the Trump Russia false narrative in the minds of those ignorant Democrats who still believe in Russian collusion.

The facts show just the opposite. Trump is Putin's worse than nightmare.
