First Tim Walz tries to pass him off as a Sergeant Major when he was not, now he wants people to think he was a coach when the reality is that he was a volunteer assistant coach and did not get paid for it. Is anything about this guy on the level?

ABC News reported that Walz DID serve briefly as a command sergeant major, but that was not the rank he held at retirement. So he was a sergeant major during his service. He did not claim to be a head coach. And his service as assistant coach (who is called coach by his team, not assistant coach) was volunteer. Giving of his time without pay to help the team. He also coached seventh grade basketball and track. All great things for the players as a volunteer. How dumb can you be to try to make that a bad thing?
And about his service, remember that after Trump went to a Military Academy and march around waving flags showing off, he then got several draft deferments including one for a doctor that claimed he could not march after being paid off by Trump's daddy. Trump then has gone on to dishonor our true military heroes calling them Losers and Suckers. Trump is the loser and so are those of you who support him.

It was an assistant coach role which her did not receive a stipend for. It was a volunteer position. He makes it look like he was a real coach and even had some of the kids that were on that team show up for the DNC. It was so fake to represent himself like that just like it was fake to represent himself as a combat soldier when he quit the army before he could be sent overseas.

Do you have a local sports news publication from Minnesota in 1999 that says he WASN’T? Because without that, this counter-claim holds ZERO water. You need hard, indisputable evidence in order to properly refute claims you feel are false.
Also, not for nothing, in my yearbook, the page about the football team has our head coach’s name, then they list all the other coaches’ names as “assistants”…. but there was no differentiation between the Offensive Coordinator, the Defensive Coordinator, the O-Line Coach, the Backs & Receivers Coach, the D-Line & Linebackers Coach, and the Defensive Backfield Coach. It’s not the NFL, it’s high school football, in Massachusetts or Minnesota, not Texas or Florida or Ohio.
I’m just saying “This guy wasn’t as important of a coach as they say he was” is a pretty weak and silly attack to begin with, and like I was saying in that question the other week, the attack mode was almost-instant, minus a day or two pause to compile potential dirt and attack angles, so it all comes off as very hollow and “we’d be doing this to literally anyone, so don’t take any of this seriously”-ish.

@WhiteSteve Steve, I am sure that you are right but I worked in a K-12 system and the assistant and coaches were always voluntary positions that one of the teacher would get and maybe it came with a stipend. Walz was not paid.
Haha, well, that very well may be true, and I think that’s how it went for my coaches too. I don’t think anyone was paid besides the head coach, and he was a guidance counselor and the athletic director for the school, he wasn’t a hired gun for the football program, he was just an alumni who came back to teach, or I guess in his case, guidance-counsel😝 I think that’s almost always the way, at least in small-time football states like Mass. They’re always at least a gym teacher. I can’t speak for somewhere like Texas, and if you told me Mankato West had a hired HOCKEY coach, I could maybe believe that, because Minnesota is to high school hockey what Texas is to high school football.
So I’m just not sure where either the claim of him being paid was ever even made, if it’s at all unusual to NOT be paid, and why that makes his coaching any less valid. The whole “Coach Walz” thing is just a folksy side story, no one is voting for Harris because of Walz’ football acumen. It’s not like “China is beating us! But I think if we run a well-disguised zone blitz we could force an interception!”😂

* Not only is his state in decline proving his policies don't work.
