Why do trans people say I was assigned male/female at birth instead of just saying I was born male/female?

Because they don't really believe in the ideology they claim, and think it can't stand on its own- so they feel the need to undermine what they see as "the oppressor" and the rest of us see as the simple acknowledgement of biological fact. It's also why they talk so much about "allies", since seeing themselves as victims under attack is core to never having to stop and reexamine their doctrines.

My saying all this probably makes me sound ragingly anti-trans, but I'm not; I'm just disgusted by what I see as a cult of weakness worshipers exploiting emotionally abused children to reinforced stereotypical gender roles, while claiming to do the exact opposite. If you don't fit in with the assigned role of your gender, it's the role that you're a misfit with, not your gender. And since our civilization is NOT magically creating a hundredfold increase in genuine gender dysphoria, what we actually have a vast sea of impressionable young people irresponsibly being encouraged to make permanent surgical alterations to themselves that will, not to sugarcoat it, fuck their lives up for as long as they last. However... there's another factor at play.

Transsexuals represent a potential sea change in the way society deals with its sexism. People who've seen both sides of the coin can spill the beans on where the grass really IS greener, and only egalitarians want that. Egalitarians- those who actually hold the belief, as opposed to simply paying lip service- are vanishingly rare. Traditionalists need gender roles to protect the powerful, and have most conservatives on their side; Feminists need gender roles to protect their power base, and have most "liberals" on their side. Between the two groups, media control is nearly complete. This is why EVERY event that involves a transsexual suddenly becomes an issue, and why every issue involved one of them becomes a trans issue.

Because they think a 3rd party made a decision about there sex that they don't agree with.

Where as the reality is they made a determination based in the physical evidence presented to them. But they think things different.

Because it's more accurate. Saying I was born male sounds like I grew out of it or something, like "I was a born a male but then at puberty I changed into a female." That didn't happen.

Saying I was assigned male at birth is just what actually happened, without implying something else that didn't happen.

I think it's because saying they were assigned male/female at birth makes it sound like it was a sentence they were given. Like it was something someone else did to them that was wrong.

That's because they don't identify with the gender they were born in.

We all know that is not true.
The doctors just wrote down male or female on the birth certificate based on what type of genitalia they objectively saw once the baby was born. It was just an observation of reality.
