I just finished watching.

My assessment? Harris did better than I thought she would (granted, I wasn't expecting much at all). She repeated the same talking points over and over again, she dodged questions, and didn't say much of substance otherwise.

Trump's performance was really bad. Yeah, we don't expect a whole lot from him either, but he missed some very good opportunities tonight. In addition to also not saying much of substance either. He got baited very easily, he fell into some serious traps, and he wasn't as disciplined or focused as he could or should have been. Tulsi Gabbard is probably livid right now.

The CNN moderators were much better. ABC never called Harris on anything and slipped in a bunch of passive-aggressive jabs at Trump.

All in all, Democrats have reason to feel goof right now. Will it influence the final outcome of the election though? I'm not so sure. The election is still two months out, which in politics is ten eternities. We will have to wait and see.

The bar was set low for Cackles Heels UP Harris. So long as she didn't cackle and use a fake southern accent, it was a win for her supporters. She just kept on doing what she does, never answer a question outright, just deflect and bitch about Trump. It's what the entire DNC Convention was about.

However, the debate was about the undecided, not her supporters. So, she lost big time. Her record as VP is explained away by the fact VP's really don't do much. Question becomes, if Joe stepped down? Who is running the Country? She technically should be "acting President." So, on Day one she's supposed to implement her so called "opportunity economy" to fix the bungled "build back better" philosophy? People aren't that dumb.

If you want to be an executive be it president or governor you don't have the option of simply ignoring issues. You have to address them as best as you can or your failing by not doing your job.

This is not a high school popularity contest, people need to know how she would address the issues if any different from the Biden administration or her past political record.

She needed to show us how she was thinking on her feet in an executive capacity to demonstrate that judgement. What we got was largely memorized speeches that really didn't answer the question or show she had any capacity to actually govern.

It wasn't a debate. Kamala had a coach speaking into her ear and the biased mods were interjecting fact checks in Kamala's favor to discredit her opponent. So, as Trump said, it was actually three against one.
It was rigged. That's what Democrats do.

Has anyone ever seen how true debates work in debating clubs? The moderators aren't biased, they don't interject, and the debaters don't get assistance through ear pieces.

His past debates have not generally been well conducted, and Trump frequently comes off looking worse in half of them because he doesn't hold back. Trump is a good and responsible business leader and as such is eager to talk to everyone, take criticism, and address all issues.
This is why Trump gets better results than almost every other politician!

But it is also why Trump is relatively poor at politics because he is going to engage to get the job done and is not holding back to protect his image.
Theses are the image crafting skills of a seasoned politician, lawyer, or Con-artist that Trump never had the luxury in business of using.

In Trump's world if you don't make a good product people will find out and either never return or sue you for their money back. So Trump has to address every issue because results are everything.

But unfortunately that is not how politics or litigation works in practice because it is always a new product even if the customer could see the last one, and there is never a recall or refund.

So politicians laugh all the way to the bank and get to cherry pick a new topic every-time. Which is why we always get terrible service we would never willingly buy from them.

I am not much in favor of the concept of debates beyond their capacity to "force" candid to admit to address issues and questions on their feet as an executive would have to.

That is not the case at all either side knows the questions ahead of time or those questions are chosen and asked in a preferential way.

In the first case you just hear how well someone can memorize and recite a speech which unless they are an actor is useless information.

in the 2nd case your not comparing the 2.

In this regard Kampla failure to answer soo many critical questions constitutes a withdraw and thus technically a loss in my opinion.

But you also saw how Trump can react when cornered which is not always as gracefully as some people would like. But as demonstrated it is effective because getting things done well isn't simply about looking good in the real world as it is in politics both elected and before a jury.

3: Just because the FBI has bad data doesn't mean its true. The new 2021 Crime reporting system isn't working very well with large scale non-reporting. Crime really is up since 2020 big time. Murder for example is up 23% since 2019.
