If you compare the world now to a 100 years ago (1924) everything has radically changed because of technology. Sure 1924 looked racially different compared to 1824 but not the extent 2024 compared to 1924. Also 1824 looked very different to 1724 but to a much lesser extent.

But I am wondering if we are plateauing in some ways. Seems like the 20th century was by far the most expedited century in science and technology advances ever seen by mankind.

But will the 21st century keep on this trajectory? Sure we will advance but I somehow doubt people will be living to be 200 by end the of the century. Wars are raging and it unfortunately shows how fragile civilization really is.

I have to go with 1920-1970

You see a prosperous America after the end of WWI & Spanish Flu Epidemic without realizing a Great Depression would ensue then another World War to send boots on the ground in the Japanese Front In The Pacific & Nazi Occupied Europe, Everyone lined up for the Polio Vaccine, FDR spreading patriotism and prosperity, Desegregation & Rise of Civil Rights Leaders, to technological advancements like Colored TV and color video film cameras, push towards eradicating SmallPox (1977 last case was reported apparently).

That is at least how I view it, a lot of events jam packed together.

I would say Second Industrial Revolution ? This is where I see modern and accepted slavery of the masses I think, where factories and market copulated. Designating productivity as the mainstream life goal for everyone, dictating daily schedule and moral values, where consumerism became a way of life, with the aftermaths we can all spectate.

There was a lot going on in 1770 to 1820. Napoleonic wars, American War, and a lot of fundamental work on electricity. Outside of this 50 years, by 1830 everything you needed to know about electricity was known and t was all over to the engineering dept.

I think more was going on 1670 to 1720 though. Glorious Revolution, the English Bill of Rights, Supremacy of Parliament etc

It has the seven years wars (first "world"conflict), the French revolution, then the Napoleonic wars with 7 coalitions of wars and includes the war of 1812.
