Why do politicians want to ban social media and phones for kids when that’s the parents job?

They believe social media leads to anorexia and bullying and depression. But social media is a tool, they need to get at the root cause of this social crises and the root cause is corrupted moral messages in media and in borrowed family structures. Governments could bite the tail by removing the head of the issue and the head is corrupted media and backwards expectations primed by societal lies found in imaginary media situations.

Same reasons they ban porn, tobacco and drugs from kids. Cuz some parents absolutely fucking suck at their jobs. But, I'm against all of this, and think it should all be a parent's job.
