What do you think of this way of handling the floods?

As you may know, Central Europe is currently struggling with extreme floods.

As you probably don't know, one of Germany's lands, Brandenburg, is having local elections today

Candidate for land's Chancellor from the CDU party proposed to fight floods by shooting down animals such as nutrias, beavers and muskrats, that, he believes, "destabilize protective embankments"

What do you think about it?

Obviously this is not meant to „handle the floods“, but to prevent dams from being in a bad condition when a flood situation arises. There have been dozens of documented cases where beavers hollowed out parts of a dam. Are you hellbent on finding funny news about Germany or something? 🙄
