Why are democrats so opposed to the SAVE ACT to keep illegals for voting?

Supposedly it is already illegal for illegal aliens to vote but this just gives it a little more bite. It includes punishment for violators. Why would anyone be opposed to this? Do you think it is because they really want illegal aliens to vote because they know if President Trump wins the election he will deport them all.

Honestly I take it for granted that illegals will vote. The question is how many and where. Enough to lock down a swing state, or flip one entirely? The dead will vote for both parties, and machine shenanigans will outvote our population.

I'm surprised that not having legitimate votes would turn into a bipartisan issue. I'd figure Democrats would be even more pissed at having people they haven't voted for being shoved down their throats on local and state levels.

The number of people displeased with policies in those cities/states who leave is pretty telling there. That isn't a small decision to up and leave your home state, in the thousands every year as well.

I'm curious how that will play out in the next census.

I'm all in favor of making it hard to vote, without limiting one's right to vote. Nowhere in the US Constitution or any federal or state law does it say voting has to be easy.

in states where illegal aliens get drivers licenses it is easy for them to register to vote. I live in one of those states.
