If I was to send my kids to a PUBLIC university as a die hard MAGA, what university in the USA would best align with my values?

Depends on the kid.

I graduated from a very liberal university where I was forced to take “core” classes such as “analyzing society” (which is far left propaganda), see 24/7 male bashing propaganda in dorm room halls and was forced to take mandatory “diversity training” when I worked as a RA.

Did that ultimately make me more liberal? No. It actually made pushed me in the opposite direction. Reason being:

1) it was forced on me

2) the propaganda was so crass and one sided that even at 18/19 I would call bullsh*t

3) the people pushing this crap usually came from well off elitist families, never worked a hard day in their lives and/or were life long tax payer funded public servants.

Now this was 20 years ago. Nowadays universities have gotten insane with their free speech restrictions and (sometimes violent) radical or organizations. If I wanted to work for the university I imagine the DEI training is insane.

Again it all depends on the kid. Is he impressionable and easily brainwashed to “fit in”. Or does he not care about the bs and just wants to focus on graduating with a valuable degree (e. g. STEM fields). Or is he self aware enough to notice this crap and get pushed further in the opposite direction like me?

To me, MAGA system of beliefs looks strictly incompatible with any advanced system of knowledge, because going for uni requires a necessary level of trust in established knowledge from qualified people. From what I observed, MAGA members show the exact opposite, they don't trust knowledge gathered by professionals before and during their existence, they also don't recognize some common scientific consensus, they maybe even fear the concepts of collective thinking and supervision.

So, right from the start, the first month and for these reasons, they won't be able to integrate into any collective. It's sad but it looks inevitable to me.

I think you’d really to go more granular than that and look at the department for the planned major. That said, I’d guess the University of Alabama if I had to pick one.

The University of Florida might be another.

I’d assume Business and Engineering Departments, along with the hard natural sciences, to be the most friendly.
