99% of toilet paper in the US is produced domestically. So you’re hoarding a product that doesn’t even come into the ports. A simple Google search could’ve told you that. Really dumb.

in the case of hoarding, i always want to introduce this idea to the discussion: even if you think hoarding a product is stupid and unnecessary, if you decide that some of your neighbours will try to hoard it, in a way that might make it hard for you to get it when you need it, you might buy some extra, not because you think the stock is actually threatened, but because you want to get ahead of the mob who do. and once all your neighbours think the same thing, the hoarding crisis is fiat accompli.

this might be why we see the same essentials hoarded over and over again no matter what the problem is; those are the things people worry they won't be able to get later.

again, there is zero reason to hoard it. They have no concept of where it comes from.

Also even if not imported, still need trucks all over the country , so wise to "hoard" stock up.
