What are some things you don’t understand why we need to be politically correct?

Half the shows you see on TV in my generation would get you thrown out of the producer's office and blacklisted because of political correctness!

I'm so disgusted with political correctness and the feelings police. Apparently nothing can be criticized today which is a shame because snowflakes keep on creating more materials for comedians!! And it's not even a left/right thing - there is ridiculous thin skinned judginess on both sides and the worst part about all of this is that it's leading to self-censorship which is the worst kind!!

They're just words and images people! They can't harm you. They can offend you and you know what, that's fine!

I even have a theory how all of this b******* started. When society could no longer use shame as a tool for expressing disapproval, it let ALL of the behaviors that would normally have been self-regulated (not self-censored but self-regulated) run wild and this enormous wave of antisocial behaviors crashed on society. Now that it was out there and a disapproving glance didn't have the same effect that it used to people began to be publicly assertive of what they found offensive and this found its way into our etiquette, interpersonal reactions, forms of entertainment and the worst part was codified into law in some cases about "protected classes" of people and the end result is that everything is hate speech.

I don't know why people just can't laugh and walk away or just not say anything. We're all big boys and girls and responsible for our own words and behaviors.

Just silly songs, no big deal. not a college lecturer saying injuns have red skin. We don't panic that "row row row your boat" is not factual.

2, Lists of "songs you didn't know were racist" but if it isn't an open insult then let it go!

Just look at the "reception" section of the peter pan song! "Why is the red man red."

So much condemning... a silly song in section, how it was received. almost nothing about the song.

Also it is red man in neverland, literally red, not even natives! N just a silly song...

No physical hurt by it n other songs n most pc rules.
