Yes, I’m sick of it. Like I agree with being nice to everyone and equality, but some of this shit is just taken too far!

I dont believe they are. In the old days what happened was that families covered teenagd pregnancies up by sending them far away to live with an aunt for a year pretending it was to " help out" with a sick relative and sometimes the girl was with the aunt but she was sent away to a special hospital usually religious like Catholic or Presbyterian where the girl would have the baby that way nobody would know. The parents of the girl would either have the baby adopted or adopt it themselves or the mother of the girl would pass the baby off as her own. Sometimes the family did not let their daughter come home and she was kept in a religious girls home often to the end of her days or a mental institution for her entire life.

My great grandmother spent time in a Catholic run home with her first child, fortunately she had signed herself in on advice of social workers to have the baby and my great grandfather was marrying her otherwise she would never have kept her baby or gotten out. The Presbyterian home was the same.

My grandfather and grandmother worked in two different mental institutions and there were a lot of institutionalised people in there that were perfectly sane but forcibly put in there at a young age and decades went by. Think of an innocent person in jail but forcibly medicated. A lot of them were because maybe they wanted to marry the wrong person. Many were orphans who were put in my their legal guardian because their parents left them monet and proper. Many because they were young girls who had gotten pregnant at a young age to a relative such as cousin, uncle, brother or father. If the girl had been raped by a member of the establishment or their sons and made accusations she ended up in the mental institution or religious girls home to silence them. By establishment I mean the doctor, judge, mayor, cheif of police, lawyer etc

My grandparents also talked about girls mysteriously getting pregnant in these mental institutions. Girls with severe mental health problems, disabilities etc.
