just today i got my shoes shined at the airport. put my briefcase down and pulled out the paper. a little N**** boy came running up so i said, "gimme a little elbow grease in it too"! he sure did too. i could see his reflection in them somehow they were so shiny black.

satisfied with his work, i closed the article i was reading, "Act more white", and put the paper under my arm. i scooped up my briefcase and reached into my pocket to pull out payment. i tossed the nappy headed kid a nickel, which he caught, and went on my way.

I do think it's unfair that for example "black accent" is seen as unprofessional, but not many other accents are. Like one of my coworkers has a strong southern accent & it may make her seem unprofessional to some employers subconsciously bc of stereotypes about southerners in the USA, but most people know consciously that really it's just an accent & doesn't mean she's dumb or lazy. The same apparently can't be said for most people answering this question...
