The lying was just lying until recently when it moved to a new low by trying to convince hurricane victims that there was no aid for them and now some of them aren't getting it because they think it'll get Trump votes. So now, I'd say it's the mindless following of a conman without any ability to recognize the obvious lies they're constantly told. Also they are unable to have rational conversation.
