Trending & News President Trump and Lizzo both stated that if Kamala becomes president the country will become more like Detroit. Do you agree or disagree, and is that a good or bad thing?
The executive branch by our constitution check and balance isn't that powerful. It's massively influential but our congress at whole is the driving force.
In the same way don packed the supreme court with mitch mcconnell deliberately subverting obama ability to pick his supreme court picks. From there they over turn roe vs wade and forced return old laws but any state who had a referendum by vote chooses to have abortion rights.
It's 10 steps back but ultimately our congress and voters claws back to normal in 5 to 10 years from said setbacks.
The executive branch both don or kamala can't unilaterally control our country to the point of brink. With Detroit being an example of the brink.
Let's look at an ultra conservative Christian who is a single issue voter about abortion. They voted for the don to completely remove abortion. Don by picking conservative Supreme judges took the first step in doing that but what happened afterwards? States who could vote on the issue wanted abortion rights. While other states are left to the wind waiting to vote and being harmed by it.
This is what I mean the executive branch is influential but not directly in control. On one hand it can't be the end of the world one way or another with don or kamala but that's no excuse to be complacent with our peers left on undecided ground.
So in response to this question I'm understanding that you think the country moving towards the direction of Detroit would be a negative direction. Cool, got it. Now, do you think Kamala will make the country more or less like Detroit? I understand that it won't solely be due to her influence, but as a result of her election which would be more likely?
*There
Lol, of course you can say it's a non-sequitor, it's America you can say whatever you want. I just found it strange that both the Harris and Trump campaigns both said the country will become more like Detroit under a Harris presidency. You can obviously say that both are wrong. They both say that they'll do away with taxes on tips. I find that to be a dubious claim myself.
I disagree. It will be more like Venezuela
If she wins she'll turn it into the new San Francisco
Thank you for the MHO

I'm from Michigan. My mom and aunt run a prayer truck in Detroit praying for people. They told me it's really bad there.
If kamala wins, I won't fear for my life anymore, like if trump was in charge.
I'm a white, liberal, JEW
All my life, essentially. As a jew. Im a minority. Trump only exacerbates it
You do know the democrats are pro Palestine, right? They attacked Jewish students on university campuses
@SolitarySolace I'm also pro palestine. I can be jewish and still not like what a certain country is doing. Yes, I'm not a "pro hamas" fan, but, I'm not a fan of what israel is doing either.
Do you know that most of the people of Russia, and israel, don't want their leaders doing what they're doing to Ukraine, and Palestine, respectively. Republicans, don't understand this, because well, they're domestic terrorists, themselves
Isn't that my point. Trump only exacerbated it. Kamala at least makes me feel somewhat safe
My point is. As a minority, I fear for my life
I mean, it's not like she can "change" a minority into a majority, right?
Don't republicans think this is a "christian" nation, after all
I'm saying that, why should a majority religion, control a country. That's not what this country was built on. It was built on freedom of religion, and FROM religion.
I feel that you're getting way off topic from what I'm trying to ascertain. Perhaps I wasn't very clear. You said you've always been afraid, but that you wouldn't be afraid if Kamala wins. My question is why you would feel less fear if she wins? Is she going to do something in particular to make you less fearful?
Again, I'll always be a minority, and fear for my life. As long as republicans continue to want to make this a "christian" nation
And i told you, this country, is built on freedom OF religion, and freedom FROM religion
Why don't republicans fucking understand that
But, at the same time, it's a war torn county. I literally do not want to go right now, because of what they're doing.
country*
I've already told you over and over, until republicans get that this ocunty is NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION, and that it was born on freedom OF religion and FROM religion...
country**
Why wouldn't i be scared of a war torn country, right now?
Are you seeing a pattern here. Jews, are always being attacked
The Jews aren't safe in their homeland, but you're not happy with them defending themselves. You're afraid in one of the safest countries on the planet, because you happen to say you're a different religion (dubious, probably a fair-weather Jew). You don't want to live in a country where you're in the majority because of the constant bombings, rapes, and slaughters by neighbors... Is there anywhere you'd be happy? And, back to the topic at hand, how will Kamala make it better?
I will be happy, when we aren't scapegoated
Yeah, why shouldn't i
But at least it's not because of scapegoating, then it'll just be because they hate me for being me, not because im a jew
But, why would you hate me for me. I like to think im a pretty cool guy, regardless of being a jew or not. you on the other hand, nope
No prob. hope i informed you on things, and that you stop voting for the party that literally doesn't care about you
Yes, and not in the good way.
