Will Russia continue to import North Korean troops to save Putins unpopularity at home regarding the draft?

1 yPutin is never going to quit unless he can save face and claim he “won something”. Zelensky said he won’t quit until Russia is 100% expelled from the Ukraine including Crimea and the Donbas regions. Zelensky can’t make concessions to Russia without looking weak in front of his own people.
So we are at a stalemate where 100s of thousands of lives have been lost, both sides have destroyed economies and the Ukraine’s Allies are trapped in a money pit supporting the war. Now even North Korea is losing face given the troops they sent have either defected or have been annihilated. Also what exactly does the USA get in exchange for helping the Ukraine through this prolonged war?
Also I never fully understood why western leftists are so pro Ukraine and suddenly so pro war. It’s not like the Ukraine is exactly a paradise of racial equality, fairness and LGBT tolerance. Yes Russia is even worse, Putin is a thug dictator and we are severely damaging a geopolitical enemy by proxy (no American lives lost). But really why so much zeal from the democrats when it comes to this war? Is it just because you all still believe the proven myth that Russia helped Trump win the 2016 election? Is that the only reason why?
Anyway Trump needs to force a sit down with both parties to negotiate a deal and he’s very good at that. Work out a deal where Russia gets to keep Crimea and the Donbas regions. Ukraine will not join NATO but will be protected if foreign invaders attack them again.

@blueonblack22 It does seem like the U. S. and Russia are slicing up the pie that is Eastern Europe. Russia keeps Crimea and U. S. gets to sell energy to Europe. Right, wrong or indifferent... it does seem to be what's going to happen.
- 1 y
I'm pro Ukraine BECAUSE WE PROMISED THEM DEFENSE FROM Russia if they gave up their #1 bargaining chip in the mid90s - their nukes. WE DIDN'T DEFEND THEM When Putin invaded Crimea. This is our chance to get it right. We gave our word. What's that worth?
- 1 y
No one in the western world wants Ukraine taken over by a major political adversary like Russia.
But completely expelling Russia from certain regions of the Ukraine (crimea, donbas) is just not going to happen at this point. They are dug in and well entrenched.
Again the only way Putin will ever quit is he needs to save face. Zelensky also needs to save face and can’t quit or give into Russia in front of his people.
The USA needs to be “the bad guys” who force Ukraine and Russia to have a sit down to end this stupid war. There has to be off ramp. Because this ongoing bloody stalemate is doing nothing but pointlessly getting more and more people killed, infrastructure destroyed, damaging regional economies and costing the rest of the world a lot of money.

1 yI think they draw a line on the left side of donbas somewhere... a chunk of ukraine is lost... but it was russian peoples anyways. the russian territory taken... is vacated. hostilities end.
Agreements are made about Ukraine not going to NATO and missile shields and such. All bull crap... because USA lied last time
all war crimes charges are dropped.
something like that. And then they rebuild and re-arm until next time...
I'm not saying that is right, I'm saying it is what it is...

Anonymous(18-24)1 yIt's likely the deal will be to stop arming Ukraine. Stop the militaristic expansion of NATO encroaching on Russian boarders. Ukraine to stay out of the EU and for Russia to keep crimea and donbass to protect ethnic Russians that live there. Victory will be peace. No one was ever going to win this, not Russia, not Ukraine and not the US taxpayer saddled with the bill.

1 yIt’s so crazy, because he said he’d have the war ended not only within 24 hours of taking office, but within 24 hours of winning. Did I miss some major news, orrrr…?
119 Reply- 1 y
yup back to his daily habit of breaking promises he never intended on keeping in the first place just to get elected lol. get ready for four more years of this shite.
Just want to say that he had just been elected, but didn't take the office yet. For the moment still Biden is the president.
But i don't think he will stop it because doesn't depand on USA or Ukraine, it depand only on Russia and Ukraine i want to belive they will not accept any agreemant with Russian army on theyr land and no war reparations!- 1 y
These 24 hours are from the same pipe dream that lets Trump blabber about his healthcare plan coming out in „two weeks.“
@DryGermanGuy True, we will live to see what awaits us in the near future, lets all hope for the very best.
- 1 y
I admit Trump’s empty promise to “end the war in 24 hours” was very foolish.
@blueonblack22 for me that sentence was no more then a politic lie to attract people to vote him.
But is not in his power to end the war.
Only Putin can end it if he is willing to.- 1 y
@Alexandrubaschet08 would you trust Kamala more to end the war?
@blueonblack22 As I said before, it is not up to the US to end the war, it is up to RUSSIA/PUTIN!
If the US wants to have an important role in achieving peace, it has no choice but to continue providing military aid.
If the aid is cut, then peace will not be achieved, but the capitulation of Ukraine, which will continue to wage guerrilla warfare against the Russian invader.
PEACE CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED ON THE FOLLOWING TERMS:
1. Withdrawal of the occupying armies from the territory of Ukraine to the borders of 2014, before the occupation of Crimea.
2. Security guarantees from Russia and war reparations from them.
3. Unconditionality by any country towards Ukraine and their decision to join the EU and NATO in accordance with the provisions of these two institutions.@blueonblack22 What can Trump and Kamala do to bring peace?
Whether you support Trump or Kamala, what is each one's agenda?
It is not an agenda, Ukraine is defending itself and the Western countries are supporting a cause!
The cause of the independence and sovereignty of a nation to choose its own future.- 1 y
@Alexandrubaschet08 the Biden administration displayed gross incompetence and fecklessness on the world stage with the Afghanistan pull out. This in turn emboldened Putin to invade the Ukraine in the first place. And by Kamala’s own admission “she was the last person in the room” when it came to all of Biden’s major decisions.
I infinitely trust Trump more then Kamala to end that war. - 1 y
@Alexandrubaschet08 I echoed your conditions in my own post. But again Putin isn’t going to quit unless he feels he has won something. He’s proven to the entire world he doesn’t mind getting 100s of thousands of his county men killed in a conflict that is 100% at fault to his ego. He’s a megalomaniac and again he will needs to believe he achieved something before he will ever quit.
- 1 y
@alexandrubaschet08 it’s up to Trump to force both sides to the table to make a deal. It won’t happen in 24 hours of his inauguration (I admit that was total bs) but it will happen. If anybody is good at making a deal it’s Trump.
- 1 y
@blueonblack22
You do realize that everything for and around that Afghanistan pullout was planned during the Trump administration? Biden merely executed it. It's called continuation of policy.
And Russia has been terrorizing Ukraine since 2014, the war in Afghanistan or America's politics there have nothing to do with it. - 1 y
@DryGermanGuy yes Trump did make a deal with the Taliban for the pull out. But the deal had several CONDITIONS that needed to be met. It was supposed to be a graduated process.
Instead Biden rushed the pull out (and went directly against his top military advisors advice) just because he wanted to be “the US president who ended America’s longest war”.
He got headlines alright. Headlines of desperate Afghans falling out of airplane wheel wells. Headlines of a suicide bomber killing 13 American servicemen along with over a 100 dead innocent civilians. Headlines of turning over billions of dollars of advanced American equipment to the Taliban. Headlines of millions of afghan woman being subjected to forced marriage and sexual slavery.
And Putin read all those headlines and proceeded to invade the Ukraine just a few months later. @blueonblack22 You didn't answer my question. What is Trump/Kamala's plan to pacify Eastern Europe?
- 1 y
@Alexandrubaschet08 Trump is going to force a sit down with Putin and Zelensky to make a peace treaty to end the war. It won’t happen in “24 hours” of him taking office but it will happen. Trumps good at making deals. Biden/Harris are good at looking feckless and incompetent which ESCALATES aggression.
@blueonblack22 This si bullS... is clear you don'r understand the mentality of East Europe, we don't make any compromise with Russia, you can even trow your atomic bomb here, rader then step back from Russia.
The only peace that is posible is:
Ucraine border back to 2014 (before Crimea invasion)
Russia war reparations
All soldgers out of prison and childrens and familys back to theyr houses
Ukraine unconditional joinment to NATO (only with NATO request terms accepted).
If Trump don't have this peace plan, then he can even don't talk with Ukrain. He want to cut the money... OK... EU will keep helping, but Ukrain will not surent to Russia.- 1 y
@Alexandrubaschet08 so you rather have Kamala handling all this?
@blueonblack22 She having the plan i told you?
Anonymous(36-45)1 yThe territories lost will not be retaken by Ukraine. The remainder of the Ukrainian state should be pushed into the EU and NATO. This time the correct way with a defense treaties with the US, UK, or France a country that can actually defeat Russia on the ground.

1 yThere is no easy answer to Ukraine. Stalin fucked up when he drew the lines which showed Ukraine and a separate territory to Russia. Originally, Ukraine was just a part of larger Russia (proper). I predict the war will slow/stop while Trump is in office and resume once he is out of office.
Incidentally, China is watching Ukraine to judge western response and their ability to seize Taiwan. There are indications the PLA/PLAN have been told to ready an invasion of Taiwan in 2028.13 Reply- 1 y
Don't forget the Indians Pakistan over Kashmir, Israel & Palestine, Saudi's & Yemen. EVERYONE is watching to see how weak we are
- 1 y
Weak/strong, it's all relative. India/Pakistan (two nuclear powers) can resolve their own shit without anything American except diplomacy.
The Russians have a much longer attention span than we do (no surprise), and they may simmer down for four years, but their king term goals won't change. - 1 y
Very good takes gentlemen!! TY!
The last option. Russia is reportedly ready to begin negotiations now. The deal will end up with Ukraine ceding some territory to Russia and some sort of guarantee that Russia won't invade again. Either NATO membership or some other treaty obliging their defense. The same thing that should've happened 3 months after the war started.
12 Reply- 1 y
Likely correct
I think Trump can threaten to withdraw assistance which will put pressure on Zelensky and I hope and believe Putin will still listen to and sit down with Trump.
In the meantime, the fighting will continue and North Korea will keep losing troops to the wonders of modern civilization.10 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. So far trump said he would withdraw assistance if Ukraine refuses to negotiate a peace treaty. He also threatened to go all out on Russia if Russia refuses to negotiate a peace treaty. So he's applying pressure on both sides to come up with something they agree to.
121 Reply- 1 y
@Syntosi Possibly but I think that would be the preferable outcome if you compare it to an ongoing war. Russia should have that territory they wanted as a buffer zone. Ukraine then gets full freedom to join NATO and to join the EU if they want to. Ukraine gets more freedom that way, Russia gets the buffer to keep them out of fear.
Alternative deals I don't know what they would take so would be interesting if something more favorable for Ukraine would be negotiated. But the alternative is either a very large international war or Russia winning with there being no more Ukraine. Russia is not the weak country the media likes to depict them as so they can keep that war going for quite a while probably longer than we have inventory since the west lacks manufacturing by comparison to Russia and china. - 1 y
@Dongie Well if you are interested I guess I can summarize it.
First of all, Russia was already screwed before this war. The Russian fertility rate is about 1.8 per woman and their population pyramid looks like this:
To explain that image, its called a population pyramid because you want it to be smallest at the top and widest at the bottom like a pyramid. That pinch you see in the 20-29 year is basically a national death sentence. What it means is that for every year you are going to have fewer and fewer people contribute to the economy while more and more become dependent on government support. It is a population collapse so to speak.
The war in Ukraine just made this worse as the young that Russia desperately needs to rebuild their population goes and dies in Ukraine or flees the country. So far Russia has lost approximately 2 million men in losses and people fleeing Russia. This is 2 million of Russias most productive and wealthiest people gone. - 1 y
@Dongie Secondly, Russia has always relied on their Soviet legacy stockpiles. The problem for Russia is that they are basically out now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xF-S4ktINDU
They can still keep going for a while yet with a trickle of new production combined with assistance from countries like Iran and North Korea but the quality has dropped as they keep scraping the barrel. Furthermore, while many people think that quantity has a quality all of its own, that is not actually true in war. Low quality means that everything gets more expensive. If you need 50 shells to destroy a target that high quality NATO shells can do in 5 then you need to make those 50 shells, transport them, shoot them etc.. It quickly becomes far easier and cheaper to have higher quality.
In other words, the more the quality of the Russian equipment drops (and the quality of its troops) the more they will need to make up the difference which drops the quality further and causes a downward spiral until they simply run out. Russias way of waging war in Ukraine is completely and utterly unsustainable, even for Russia. - 1 y
@Dongie I mean why not at this point? USA has probably an even bigger stockpile of its old weapons than Russia that was made explicitly to destroy Russia but never used. I see no reason not to just give all that to Ukraine rather than USA having to pay money each year to maintain stuff that will literally never be used otherwise.
Destroy one of your main rivals while at the same time cutting maintenance costs. Its a deal that sounds too good to be true. - 1 y
@Dongie That is not true. Russia has worked against American interests for a very long time. It is not pure chance that the AK is seen as the weapon used by terrorists and enemies of USA. Every time USA has attempted to do something, Russia has taken the opposite side.
USA wants to build its relationship with South Korea, Israel and Europe. Who threatens them? North Korea, China and Iran. Who allies with these nations and support them? Russia. USA and its allies loses control over Africa, who moves in to replace them? Russia and China because they were the ones who orchestrated it in the first place.
Even if you want to make friends with Russia the feeling is not mutual. Russia wants what USA has and they will take it by force if they have to. - 1 y
No. You're not understanding my meaning. After having the equivalent of the opposite of your political stance forced upon you like the left has been doing with the MSM, Hollywood, schools and all things you would be feeling differently. I promise and you can't say because it's been a peachy time for you.
- 1 y
@Dongie I dont think you understand my position. The last time America even went remotely in the direction that I would consider good was during FDR or something like that. Politics in USA has been a never-ending disappointment my entire life and pretty much every news source or commentary has been beyond contempt.
I am well aware of how it feels to be completely oppressed by viewpoints that goes completely contradictory to your own values. In fact, I got no illusions that I will see my political views represented in politics within my lifetime and I have long since come to terms with that. I am not weak enough to let that keep me down and I am perfectly ready to align myself with groups that I find abhorrent if it means moving even just an inch closer to my actual positions.
Anonymous(36-45)1 yMost likely Trump will withdraw assistance from Ukraine, all's this assistance is doing is prolonging a disastrous US/NATO proxy war that Ukraine can't win. Plus if Trump is successful in ending this disastrous proxy war, Ukraine won't need assistance.
