Do you like crimes having a statute of limitations?

Why are prosecutors wasting their time on Lance Armstrong? this was decades ago and only a sports game. There seems to be no statute of limitations on sports.

It’s not about liking it, it’s about practicality and the limits of the justice apparatus. Is there really a point in prosecuting Alabama-Bob, who stole his neighbor’s lawnmower 25 years ago?

Because he was the biggest name. Funny thing was that in most of the races if they eliminated all the dope cheats it would be the guys that came in 50th or even 80th that gets the gold so he's specifically being targeted. He lost a testicle to cancer and had chemotherapy so he needed to dope just to compete

Maybe not serious crimes like rape or murder, but petty stuff, yes. I see no sense in wasting money and resources going after people for petty stuff. And so many athletes dope

I am against doping but 99% of them do it. wasting time and money on a race that took place 20 years ago is maddness. However sometimes a statute of limitations is scary. Like in Japan they used to have one for murder. So if you murdered someone you could admit it in a certain amount of time.

I don't think it's THAT much, but I get your point. Yes, I agree. There is so much cheating that happens in sports that doesn't even involve doping. So if they're coming after Lance, than they would have to change the results of so many other sporting events. Strip so many metals and World Cup titles.

Toughy. If we believe juries or judges can be trusted than statues of limitations should be done away with. There are lots of bureaucratic stuff that's in place because we don't fully trust them.
