How do you feel about Trump picking Doug Burgum for Secretary of Interior?

Burgum served as governor of North Dakota from 2016 to 2024. In 2024 he ran as a candidate for president in Republican primaries, but eventually withdrew and endorsed Donald Trump. Trump was said to have Burgum on his shortlist for a vice president.

The Count from Sesame Street? It's a sensible pick that isn't really going to make waves. His job is mainly going to be regarding land management, and most importantly, energy resources, which is something he has experience with.

I don't think that Trump's VP shortlist story was actually legitimate. The argument for Burgum was basically "he has money and is good at fundraising," which would only make sense if someone other than Trump was at the top of the ticket. For some reason, betting markets were propping him up, too.

I don't know much beyond the fact that he was a 2 term governor of North Dakota a state that struggles with BLM abuses. The agency really needs to be largely abolished. The Indian land needs to be held directly by native American tribes and the rest needs to be transferred to the states in which it exist.
