What radicalized you?

Collectively, when we started to feel the web 2.0 wave ? Before that wave, I wasn't exposed to all the opinions of this planet, I was exposed to my surroundings, and internet was still a safe place, in my opinion/perception, with people contributing instead of destroying. After the rise of web 2.0, as social medias increased in popularity, it made us connect in all ways possible, to create, to destroy. 4chan played a clear role here. Internet was able to catalyse everything, and in that case the worst of us. It could have stayed on internet, but internet became our daily life the moment we had smartphones popularized, for all of us. The worst of us, our passion for destruction, then became accessible 24/7, from kids to elders. It got even worse with filter bubbles, aka algorithmic based platforms enforcing our exposure to the same data, whichever data algorithms wanted, destructive or not. It started with Google algorithmic search? And the I saw that unleashed on all social medias, in this order I guess.

Personally, there was a time where, politically, I was just a center-left guy, and then, over the course of time, it has something to do with the collective story above, I became more and more involved in the informational and cultural wars described in the first paragraph, I switched from somewhat neutrality to more and more philosophical and political involvement, intellectually. I've seen feminism rising, it talked to me, I've seen the climate change concerns growing, it talked to me, I've seen collective knowledge being attacked, it talked to me. So I became a far-left guy, gradually, like that? Or maybe I was already but the global events created a connection I related to?

The crazy idea that humans deserve a better life than they have. Seeing the sad state of the world and the average intelligence as well as morality of people motivates me to tell the world to stop being stupid.

Not sure I'm radicalized in many things except when it comes to protecting kids from dangerous people. I don't think it was anything in particular that did it. I mean I wasn't abused from what I remember, but it still triggers me badly when I see people sexualizing children or physically/mentally abusing them.

Not to me. If you're a murder victim, your troubles are done. If you're a rape victim your left with physical damage, psychological and emotional lifelong damage, possible diseases and pregnancy.
