Have you ever changed your religious beliefs, and what triggered it?

I did one time when I was 7 years old I had to take my brother and sister to a church on a bus every weekend

And one weekend the preacher was reading out of the Bible and I was reading along with him in my Bible that they had just given me and everything that he read and then he stopped and told us what that meant

And then said If we did not do this or that or believing his word That we were all going to go to hell

Well what I read And what he said are two different things So when I got home

I told my mom I was never going back She asked why
I opened up the Bible page And I said read this and you tell me what it means And she did

And I said he told us this is what it means and I told her and I said he's so wrong

I said I'm not going back there to listen to a guy that reads something and then says that it means something else and then tells me I'm going to go to hell if I don't do it his way

she said fine you don't have to go back

And I was upset all day and then something came over me and said you're supposed to be spiritual you're supposed to have faith religion is being distorted and is now a fake business

From that moment on I've been spiritual the highest frequency besides love the biggest energy that we can incorporate into ourselves it's Who We Are is we are all spiritual with no rules except for be good be kind to the best you can give to others help other people succeed become one with self one with others one with this universe and our God Jesus

So that was my changing of religion right there and I won't ever change it again because I believe in that

I was raised christian, and for most of my childhood it was all I knew and I couldn’t imagine any other way. Fear kept me from pursuing atheism when I heard about it, especially because it challenged everything I knew about the world at the time. As I got older, read more, learned more, I eventually got my hands on some manga depicting the life of Buddha which introduced me to the religion in a unique, if biased, way.
What really kicked it off though was my church’s baptism ceremony. My dad was on their board, and when I mentioned I wanted to get baptized out of fear that I wouldn’t be able to get into heaven if I wasn’t. My dad was glad to bring it up to our protestant church, but we had no real traditions to follow beyond the basics so they thought to add to it by having everyone who wanted to participate sign a paper pledge to their god. It felt like I was signing away my soul and I couldn’t do it. It was a shift that led to me eventually choosing a new path for my spirituality. These days, it’s a kind of eclectic spiritualism that combines a bit of everything but in deconstructing the institution of the christian church I knew I wasn’t one to go back to that community until there was a serious cultural shift that made it less of a threat to innocent people.

Yeap. Used to be roman catholic, and changed the moment I found shit that made sense to me.

Most people don't even check. "I was educated in this and never will change" it is a bad attitude even if one faith is correct.. .. some do check! the trend is a funnel from all to christian, when people check included me. In contrast those who are ex-christian say "a priest did evil" which doesn't refute the book! In conclusion: thinkers switch to christianity but weak minds are the rest.

I seem to learn new things about different religions all the time, so technically yes what I believe about religions have changed over time, though I haven't changed my religion even though I understand other people's religions in more detail and have learn many arguments against them.

I was brought up as A Christian. My parents were Christian and we were taught Christianity in school. I was top of the class in Religious Knowledge. I lost that religion because I could never understand why the Christian God gave little children cancer.

I don't follow any religion now but I lean somewhat to Buddhist thinking and Non-Dualism.

Yes and no. I am a lifelong Catholic, but about ten years ago, I began adopting more traditional views and beliefs.
