When will the last USA smoker of cigs/vapes quit? Not chewing tobacco & cigars (rapidly declining) Just cigs & vapes! Dying counts as quitting?

1st, Can we MAKE someone quit? What sin tax percentage is it going to take to make them quit or are subsidies for tobacco farmers the real problem? Tobacco use is linked to HALF A MILLION deaths annually in the US alone.

Are people who can't quit "weak"?

• 57% of survey respondents said they would NEVER date a smoker
• 89% of respondents preferred not to date a smoker
• 56% of women surveyed would NEVER date a smoker
• 46% of men would NEVER date a smoker

Profitability varies, as an example, in 2018, Imperial Brands reported a profit margin of 46%. Retailers, however, often experience low profit margins, typically between 4-6%.

Is all of this for nothing because of the rise of vaping?

E-cigarette products can have markups as high as 400% and HAVE NO federal taxes. State taxes vary from 95% of the product to a.05¢ nickel per product. Worldwide smoking trends are declining, though the number of smokers remains high. As of 2020, 22% of the world

Eh it's more the other way around though this is a topic that varies no matter which side you on. But I think on a whole conservatives are way more likely to be against drug use than a liberal.
We are the ones after all who did and still trying to make weed legal all around.

They don't tax cigs anywhere near to what we get in UK for US. Cigs in US are dirt cheap and I would for sure of bought more cigs if lived there, and I did when I visited so I could bring them back to sell them.
You make a 10 buck profit for each pack just by doing that. And because I paid in GDP it costed even less.

And the answer is never. Why would people stop taking drugs? People haven't stopped with drugs ever since they accidently ate a magic mushroom.

Oh yeah Vape stuff is opposite by the way. Vape stuff is expensive in US compared to Uk, and for some reason countries keep trying to deceive people into thinking vape is worse when it's not. Australia just banned it but guess what? They have more people smoking now... surprise?
Meanwhile I think it's sweden or/and switizland they are both cig free basically thanks to vapes and alternatives that are much better than cigs.

I don't know your percentages in USA , but on my local straw poll , Germany is a problem with smoking acceptance.

I don't know that. I always Look at East Asia and Southeast Asia where they have babies chain smoke and cartons a day. It's terrifying that some of these societies are destroying their health and productivity voluntarily.

My stepdad hasn’t stopped smoking since he was 13 years old and he is 79 years old and will never stop smoking. Some people just like smoking and doesn’t even matter that it’s addictive. I’ve never smoked and I can’t date a smoker so it’s surprising that so many people still smoke even for that reason and it’s expensive and slowly kills you. Maybe 50 years from now, people will stop

no, you can not make someone quit. They will quit if and only when they want to, just like any other addiction.
Smoking/vaping are very addictive and the mfgs put additives in them to make it even more addictive.
On one had the feds are telling people that it is bad to smoke/vape, all while the other hand is reaching out for the 10.3 billion dollars a year that is generated from just the federal tax on cigarettes.

I saw a sign in the local 7-11 store. Marlboros were on sale 13 bucks apack. I don't know how people can afford it.

It varies upon state but I never once saw a pack over there for above $5 and got a carton aka 12 packs of Marlboro's for $60, and because I was spending in GDP thanks to card that was £47.
Meanwhile in England you can't get Marlboro for under £15 really.
So now I can sell them over here for £13 and bam major profit.

In the cheap states were they are all under 5 Bucks I am thinking it would be dangerous to live here because one's more going to try it for that price.

@Kaneki05 in the '90s when I was going to college I used to buy cartons at the Indian reservation and then take them up to college with me so I was buying for $30 and selling for $100. Everything was awesome until the deans threatened to call ATF on me cuz I was committing over a dozen federal & state felonies. Oh well, the $ was INSANE while it lasted!
