Are there really any notable improvements these past 15 years?

The Dems and lefties have mostly been in control the past 15 years, using the biased media and identity politics as their powerhouse to gain influence. I will say, however, there is corruption on both sides of the isle. But I have seen more of a blatant disregard for citizens and the constitustion under Dems.

We are at the point now where homeownership is nearly impossible for younger Americans to afford. Everything from food to gas to shelter and cars has skyrocketed. With the advancements in Emergency Medical Services since its conception in 1969, there are still many areas without first responders and others relying on unpaid volunteers to keep station doors open. Fire engines and ambulances are often old and beat up. Bridges and roads are deteriorating. You don't hear about the birth of new, magnificent cities anymore. Nothing has really taken off, just barely maintained.

I have been unable to hold down steady employment over the last many years. Meanwhile, I have to now look out for employment scams more than ever.

Please tell me what notable improvements you have seen?

Bruh. Ya gotta go where the jobs & innovations are - the city. Ya know, the engines of 70% of our GDP? I've seen PLENTY of AMAZING stuff! Quantum computing, remote work, flat screen TVs, mobile phones, tens of millions get health insurance, 3D printing, battery longevity, GMO crops, gene editing, cochlear implants, self driving cars, data storage, solar panels, LED lights and on & on!!

Complaining about USA inflation makes you look like a moron. It was worldwide and last I checked Dems don't run other nations. Besides, ECO 101 teaches that inflation follows pandemics as sure as the sun rises in the east.

If you can't get / hold down a job in the past FIFTEEN YEARS thats on YOU!

The negatives mostly come down to inflation/the shift to fiat currency in 1971.


In the last 15 years civil rights have advanced considerably and we’ve continued to develop economically. There are issues remaining to be solved but there’s been a general trend of progress since the 50s.

Some ways, yes. Many other critical ways, no.

While there has been great strides in the recognition and treatment options for mental illness, access, affordability, and availability have become challenging. Sadly, our society has shut down mental institutions over the years and jails have become the defacto replacements. Jails and their staff are not equipped to handle the seriously mentally ill.

Advancements in technology have really hindered socioemotional development and growth in our newest generations. Newer generations more and more are lacking interpersonal skills.

In addition, views and participation in marriage have shifted dramatically. Transient and shallow relationships have become the norm. Children are facing more single-parent home dynamics. The loneliness "epidemic" has hit men hard.

Mental illness treatment is the best it’s ever been, though we need more resources there for sure.

I don’t really agree about technology, it’s also increased our productivity pretty exponentially.

I think a lot of that is just people not being forced to stay in unsupportive or abusive relationships so… 🤷‍♀️

Again, yes, advancements, treatment options, and research has definitely improved over the many years for mental illness. But as I was saying, I am seeing the shuttering of inpatient mental hospitals over the many years more so than building. People with mental health crisises are stuck in hospital ERs for days, sometimes weeks awaiting to be placed in a psych facility. There have been unfortunate circumstances people on psychiatric holds have been placed in the custody of the Sheriff because of lack of availability of hospital beds. They are treated like any other jail inmate. Meanwhile, many criminal offenders are severely mentally ill, and instead of addressing treatment, these jails and prisons have become revolving doors.

Speaking of healthcare. Healthcare availability in general is lacking. I was placed in the lobby recently with severe pain from a kidney stone because of the lack of staff and beds. I was in excruciating pain and wailing for someone to help me

... I have severe mental illness. I am telling you as someone who has dealt with the mental health system.

Regarding the technology, I am a software engineer. Holy shit, yes, technological advancements. have really taken off. But sadly, this is at the expense of human social skills and in-person interaction. Cold approaching people in-person is now seen as "creepy" and "weird" by many. Social media and online dating has destroyed both platonic and romantic relationships for people. Everyone these days have their eyes glued to their phones. It is sad.
