What has happened to the quality of life in big cities that are governed by Democrats? Once prosperous cities like New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles have become shit holes.

And the only reason certain states are "blue" is because of the large populations of prosperous Democrat voters who populate their giant metropolitan areas.

What is the metric for "quality of life"? Limos, penthouses, McMansions, or simple rural life? What about affordability? What about good neighbors and safety?

Comfortable, smug, latte liberals don't give a fuck about others even though they pay lip service to social issues, especially "woke" social issues like racism and LGBTQ rights. What they mostly care about is their partisan loyalty.
And notice how they characterize non-Democrats as uneducated and brutish. That says a lot about the nature of modern Democrats.

there may be some truth to it, I'm not doubting... depends how you grade that. Democrats generally in cities and high population areas. they tolerate a lot... like being pushed into trains, walking on filthy streets with trash blowing about... the smell of smoke and excrement... but they will walk right by it to their lovely restaurant and pay $300 for a steak dinner and they just have a lovely time.

Compare to Wyoming where you drive for 40 minutes to get to the one restaurant... in a blizzard... and there's noone there but a waitress and a chef.

Explain why people are fleeing democrat states and cities for Republican states? California is experiencing a Mass exodus as people leave for Texas, Arizona, colarado etc. Look at san Francisco and los Angeles with high crime rates, high taxes, high property taxes, high property prices, high rents, water droughts, failing infrastructure, low pay, high homelessness and feces and garbage everywhere.

Then look at detroit, new York and Chicago where African Americans are moving to the south where many of their ancestors fled from before and after the civil war because of the high crime and poverty. For instance during the war on terror a young black man was safer as a soldier in Iraq than living in a liberal city.

For comparison... Illinois is Democrat-ruled and Chicago has the highest crime rate in the country. California, another Democrat-ruled state, has the highest cost of living, and the highest percentage of people leaving the state.

I'm a Conservative and I don't deny the factual data that with a few exceptions, like New Mexico, the poorest states are Red states, while the richest states are Blue states. California alone has the 5th highest economy in the world and the richest cities in the country.

As for explaining it, I can't honestly. I genuinely don't know why it's like that. But Blue states seem to have more high paying White collar industries, while Red states have more lower paying Blue collar industries
