Should USA have a uniform set of laws regarding the rights and obligations of identifying oneself to police?

As it is, each states laws vary. Here's a list... In an effort to avoid confusion and ensure the public knows it's rights... should the laws be updated at a federal level? That is possible, now that we have a "king".

The goal: unify the country, simplify complexity and ensure consumers and police know their rights and parameters. Avoid risk of conflict and accidents with police.

No we don't need the Federal government making the rules. That way, if you don't like the state rules you can vote with your feet and move to a state more to your liking.

You (and many others) want the states to make the rules because many states are very racist, and will make racist rules.

isn't that what fed does though, make some uniform lower level set of rules? the complexity occurs when you know rules for your state, but then go traveling elsewhere... and it's different rules. This creates risk to officers.
ditto abortion. that's the argument used to coagulate rules to fed level. maybe the fed level could be "this is recommended" baseline, but you can opt out.
I could argue we should have federal bottle redemption law. as it is, your can/bottle has complex label... due to state laws. Ditto transmitter licenses for payments... is quite complex with varying rules.
it does create jobs for lawyers though... so there's that...
just food for thought. other countries... like france, I assume are more consistent within their regions.

The cops will do anything and everything they want to do, regardless of the law. Be cooperatve and so do not challenge or irritate them - they can literally kill you if they want to and if they do they will get away with it. If anything winds up in court, they will lie and be believed, and you will be automatically deemed a liar and found guilty.

Unless one is operating a motor vehicle, there is no legal requirement to have identifying documents on-person. Officers should not be stopping or detaining anyone unless there is a reasonable and legal reason to do so.

That is a benefit. it isn't always race, but certainly in areas, could be.
Reduction in crime and risk in "race" oriented areas, would also reduce accidental death.
