I know it psychological terms get thrown around a lot When people are just referring to behaviors that they dislike or somebody who’s acting badly towards them or someone that they got angry with

so I’m really asking specifically about someone who was diagnosed with sociopathy which probably you’d be less inclined to find out about if they’re hiding it in the first place… But I thought I’d ask.

The people I know that are like that are technically sociopaths but those terms are used interchangeably enough that I still voted yes. They will not feel anything if they see one of their close friends die, not like you or I will.

They kind of care in their own way and some of them do their best. In their shoes I can't see myself doing fantastically better so I figure people do the best with what they have.

I personally prefer deeply compassionate people but I do like how sociopaths can think logically better on average, at least the ones I have met. There are plenty of stupid ones, just look at the government!

I think psychopath is a bit different than sociopath although there’s a lot of overlapping. I think with psychopaths there’s actually they don’t process the chemical oxytocin properly so they don’t experience the same emotional reactions that we do for things like bonding and loyalty. Trust compassion…. Sociopaths the emotions can be fuzzy or experienced to a lesser degree but it can be found.

But psychopaths can pretend in order to fit in, as can sociopaths. I think sociopaths have a slighter greater ability to feel emotions. A consistent mark of a psychopath is usually manipulation whereas sociopaths struggle with affect which can result in manipulation but many as you say go on to lead regular lives

Either way nine sound like a picnic of course if you really don’t process emotions in a way that allows you to feel human reality basically, I guess the world is is really off limits in a lot of ways and it’s sad ultimately.

so I think I could be the kind of person that might not recognize someone who is a psychopath because it wouldn’t seem strange to me if they had issues so I’m a little concerned..

In my case it’s not that I don’t feel things I just have a lot of walks to accessing my feelings and certainly communicating them. It’s not at all a strong point. It’s something that I always made an effort not to do until became natural not too..

so I get along really well with atypical people but of course I still appreciate kindness, but a sociopath or psychopath and pretend to be kind so there’s really no way. An expression is not normal to me, so yeah, I could see getting mixed up in the wrong situation inadvertently.. and I think somebody’s struggling through something like I am not actually that that’s their default.

The type of sociopaths I know would not shed a single tier if I was ripped apart in front of them. There is something distinctly missing in their brain and they are very cold. Some of them feel more than others but I know someone's that are close to feeling next to no compassion. They think of other people like NPCs in a video game or dolls to play with. Although what's fucked up is my empathy would allow me to feel a little bad about ripping a doll apart while my friends who are sociopathic would not.

This friend though is very loyal, has never betrayed me and has arguably treated me better than most people who have a full picture of empathy. They are very intelligent and they understand the benefits of cooperation logically and they find things overall more pleasant without chaos or drama.

But like anyone else with whatever condition, such as autism, your mileage is going to vary. It really depends on how the individual is and how they handle their condition.

I think as long as you practice good judgment of people and don't overextend yourself, you should be fine if you take things slow. I think you can spot if people are trying to take advantage of you.

I did start a relationship with a woman through mail and some phone conversations. We had been talking for about almost two months. I suddenly received a letter from her family, who asked me to forgive them. It turned out that she was a compulsively possessive person who had come close to putting a previous relationship in an early grave. She was supposed to stay medicated, it turns out she had gone off her meds, and was looking at me as her next tragic lover. I just missed that one barely as she was making plans to see me in person.

My ex was diagnosed with borderline. Also he had clear signs of narcissism, which is common along with borderline.

When people talk about psychopaths or narcs, I feel they do too freely.

One thing is having certain tendencies or traits. Another is having a personality disorder, where those traits are extreme an unmanageable.

Extremely unpredictable, chaotic, and hurtful. For no reason other than the inner conflict.

It ended up with me looking at the things as they really are:

- People can change their behavior within certain margins. Beyond that it takes plenty of time and effort.

- Your well being is condition number one for being with other person. It matters more than anything else.

- Love with mistreatment isn't good love.

Yes I think That’s what it is…psychopaths are missing certain chemical reactions that enable them to have shared common human experiences and I think their life is just one long manipulation trying to get by in the world that’s basically for into them. It’s kind of sad and if they were so often so terrible it’d be an extremely sympathetic situation
