In life, everything that famous people do is generally admired. Even the perception of beauty is governed by the upper class of society.

No. In fact I question it when famous people make a big deal about their good deeds.

I had a friend who was a medical locum filling in at Great Ormond Street Hospital in the UK a few years ago. Kids with cancer. That job's the definition of Hell. Then one day for a couple of hours it wasn't. No fanfare. No fuss. Just this guy dressed like a pirate playing and reading to the kids. He arrived, interacted with the kids and their families and left. No entourage. No media. Just Johnny Depp in a costume making dying kids and their families feel normal for a couple of hours. The media got hold of it before his next visit, but that day it was just about the kids.

Bob Geldof took advantage of his fame in 1984 to do a good thing for starving kids in Africa. But seeing him talk about it I get the idea he could have found a way to create Band Aid and Live Aid even if he'd been an ordinary Joe on the street.

I know a guy who owned a retirement home who got approached by a con artist claiming he was from Malawi who needed help raising funds to dig wells in remote villages. Being the kind of guy he was, Mike sent some money. Then some more. Then he flew to Malawi and found the address he was sending the money to was an empty store. So he set up a charity in the UK to raise funds to dig wells in the remote villages the scammer had claimed he was doing it for.

In the first three years he provided clean water to over 50 villages and saved over a thousand people from dying of starvation because the rain failed. I'd guess most people will never know his name - or my real one since I worked as his fundraising officer for a year.

Famous people may be able to make a bigger impact, but never underestimate your impact.

You're talking about social perception which is utterly irrelevant to virtue. It is most virtuous to do good things even when he will get no reward for it, because you truly believe in doing good.
