When I was growing up my father's boss had a Cadillac and he had a house near the beach and he went to Florida for a couple of weeks in the winter. I thought he was rich but besides this stuff he pretty much lived the same way that we did. He probably made 4 or 5 times what he paid my father. He did own the company however.

There is nothing that these CEOs do that justify them making these obscene amounts of money. They all serve on each other's boards and give each other raises. They get bonuses for cutting costs by getting rid of employees.

To me? They seem way overpaid. But to someone who works at McDonald’s, what I make is way overpaid too. Does that mean I should be shot?

The issue isn’t about his wallet size, rather it’s what he represents. Americans are fed up with health insurance. And despite making a pretty good salary myself, i get screwed over on health insurance all the time. It’s a capital making enterprise profiting from people’s lives…..

If they didn't think they were making enough they wouldn't have taken the job.
On the other side, if the company didn't think they were worth it they wouldn't have paid them so much.

Everyone is familiar with Steve Jobs. When he left Apple the company fell apart and damn near went bankrupt. When they brought Jobs back, he brought them from the brink of bankruptcy to the largest tech company in the world in both revenue and profit. Whatever they paid him was worth it. The alternative would have been much worse for Apple.

It might seem like an absurd amount of money to some people, but it's not that much compared to the size of the company. It's also a mere fraction compared to the company's total payroll. I don't know if they are worth that much, but the company certainly thinks they are.

They are doing the same thing as someone who flips burgers at McDs. No matter what they are getting paid, in order to go someplace else there needs to be a reason. That reason is usually money. If someone is making $10 at McDs, they will leave and go someplace that offers them $12. If someone is making $1000 per hour, they will leave to go where they make $1200 per hour. Otherwise they won't go.

Mother fuckers (not just you but everyone ) I've been preaching about single payer health care since I've been on the internet. 2/3 of all government spending is on medical spending going to these motherfucks to deny coverage.

Creating homelessness, hungry kids in school. let's drag this all the way out to school shootings. Not getting basic medical needs coverage.

There's no such thing as "enough money."

They are worth whatever someone is willing to pay them for their services. The only ones who should be making that decision are the employer (the company owner (s)) and the employee. It's no one else's business, especially not the business of the government to limit their mutually agreed upon compensation.

I have a somewhat different view of this. People get outraged about Healthcare and whatnot. But ignore the fact that it makes up almost one fifth our economy. Does it cost America? Absolutely! But it creates a lot of jobs and produces a lot of tax dollars. And my Davita stock has more than doubled in the past two years. I'm not one of these guys at the top? No. But I'm making more off the Healthcare industry then they're making off me. So I'm not going to complain.
