The coalition would include the United States and all its territories, Canada, the UK and all its territories and crown dependencies, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
The countries would be able to do free trade with each other, and their citizens would be able to visit each other passportless and would also be able to work and study there whenever they want.
It pretty much all ready is under way. It is called CAN-ZUK. Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom. There is support for it in all of those parliaments.

Without US, CANZUK would be the 3rd largest economic block. Obviously with US it will be largest and it would about a quarter bigger than US alone.
Based on the Paris Olympics the CAN-ZUK-US olympic team is going to kill it.
5 Eyes is an intelligencence arrangement between those countries so in that part CAN-ZUK-US exists already.
Also here already is AUKUS - a military treaty between Australia, UK and the US with Canada indicating they would like to join. Already there is a lot of military interoperability between these countries. The 5 Eyes deal makes a lot of difference in that military security is compatible. Japan would have a lot of work to do to get to the required level to fully join.
Of course there is a lot very similar commercial law in all these countries so easy peasy again.
The biggest problem is there is a lot of distance between component parts of such a body but hey there is the internet now.
Liberalizing movement of citizens between countries seems to being discussed as an early step. Tax regimes are possibly the biggest barrier to this.
So it is plausible and in some significant ways is already so. Probably a free trade deal between US UK is a missing piece. Don't think that has happened yet.
While I would generally support such an agreement on the condition that we have very strict almost no immigration laws.
This alliance really has the same problem as NAFTA. 2/3rd of the population and an even larger share of the economy is within the 50 united states.
As such politically it only works if you take our federal government's out of the picture, and manage it at the sub-national level. States for the US and Australia, Provence for Canada, and 'countries' for the UK.
You put our federal politicians in charge of this and American's federal politicians will own everyone.
I'd support it! We already have mostly free trade with them. You don't need a visa to visit the UK, Canada, or Ireland. You do need one for Australia which is kinda dumb, but it's basically instant apply. I'd oppose a single currency though. I like pounds, Monopoly money and dallarodiis. The countries are super similar culturally and economically. I think it would be hugely beneficial to all parties.
It would be a hard sale though, considering that the other countries fear rising "Americanism". Canada's entire national identity is convincing everyone that they aren't Americans. Americans would fear non American influence over US elections.

Doubt those things would happen. America is clamping down on immigration so the last thing they'd want is people turning up without a passport. American goods don't have a reputation for quality but I do admit trading costs with America are prohibitive. I wanted a click counter from a small company but once taxes, bank charges, shipping costs etc were added it ran into several hundred pound, not worth it.

Your correct shiping cost for this relationship across the globe is going to be a major problem. But these costs would be far better for the united states than any other common wealth member, except maybe Canada.
As for all the charges are coming from either you need a new bank or your goverment or ours has created them as a trade barrier. This is what such an agreement would abolish.

Right now the UK seems to have adopted historically American views on immigration without the American cultural power to deal with it.
Your not assimilating your immigrants because your nation isn't defined on assimilation but rather English culture. Therefore the immigrant has nothing to assimilated to, given they are not of brittish blood. Instead what they are doing is adopting an colonizer mentality.
Your choices are either:
A) kick them out and be an ethnostate again,
or
B) Adopt an American style national Identity, which probably requires joining the union at this point.

Indeed, we should have said ruggedly, our British culture takes primacy, you are expected to integrate.
This goes on to the next problem. People are brought up to hate their culture. Told we are racist, colonisers, etc. If you're taught to hate your culture, there is no hope of affirming its values. Indeed, even saying you appreciate your own English culture is likely seen by poppy et al as racist. But to affirm say Welsh (eww), or Nigerian, or Japanese culture, to say you would love your own culture in that context, would be seen as righteous and normal. So it is curious that to have an English culture is racist, but to have most other cultures is fine. It is obviously perfectly moral and right that a person should want his own culture, his own identity. If I go into many towns or cities here now, it just looks like Pakistan. I don't want that. There is a sense of division and barrier. By language, ethnicity, religion, culture. Of course, no doubt, again to poppy, this makes me racist. She doesn't have to live this as a day to day reality, though.

We have a $900 billion a year in trade with Canada (as it stands now) so, this would be very interesting especially since I heard that Australians can’t get what Americans & English & Canadians get along with it being more expensive so I can see them benefitting from this too all things considered.
I don’t have enough knowledge of the English & American trade though from the surface this seems like a good thing that benefits the country and allows us to be intertwined with our closest allies.

Any attempt at a common currency would be a problem, since the economies of the countries are different. Ireland would be a problem because it's already part of the EU and uses the Euro as its currency.

You have to play by the rules. I would like to go to NZ, but not Australia. They have too many creepy crawly things. My cousin and I stayed in a hotel room with a bunch of geckos. We captured them and let them go in the hotel hallway. We wanted them to visit rooms, other than ours. Does that make me a gecko racist? 
Geckos are nice people, but it's hard to sleep with lizards crawling on the wall and ceiling of your hotel room.
