Let's say your disability benefits and health insurance is being stripped. Let's say you are unemployed and broke, and despite countless attempts to work, you cannot hold a job down. Imagine pouring your heart and soul into your career, just to find out a recession is threatening your line of work and niche.

Heh... A Polish person here. A simple recession is not enough to faze me anymore, since my life is pretty much a recession by itself. And I would be overjoyed if socialism was abolished in Poland. I guess losing the job I managed to get my hands on that is keeping me afloat might shake me, but I'm not sure if it could shake me deep enough to make me snap. Then again, violence was never a forte of mine anyway, so as long as I kept a single tiny shred of sanity, I would not engage in simple violence. However, what did make me snap (in a way) is the realization that within the Western sphere of cultural influence I'm basically considered a fugitive criminal evading prosecution just because I'm a man. However, since I kept enough sanity to realize I'm powerless against these circumstances alone, I'm mostly just taking pleasure in whatever is keeping the Western left wing awake at night instead of taking any violent action.

We all have our breaking point. Mine was contracting an autoimmune disorder and upending my entire life, my identity, my health, my relationships, everything.

I didn't get violent but I'm still battling with the mental health issues that resulted from the realization that this is my life now. I get it.

I believe we can be more sensitive to the needs of our fellow man, that we can be better neighbours to each other. Sometimes we take to much for granted and we forget to tell each other we care. I think Christmas provides a wonderful opportunity to find friendships and to show our loved ones that they are important to us, that we're happy they are in the world. It's something we should do more often. And the spirit of Christmas is a joyous reminder of our responsibility as people...
