My brother told me a funny story. Him and his homie were riding mountain bikes in the forest. They came across a bear cub. They turned around and put it in overdrive. They high-tailed it out of there. There's no way that the cub was alone. I'm sure that if someone tried to harm your cubs, you would be a force to reckoned with. But hell hath no furry like the mama bear. My friend and I rode our bicycles up and into Canada. When we emerged from our pup tents in the morning, we had a black bear staring at us. Crikey! I was hoping and praying there was no cub involved. There wasn't, so the bear just sauntered off.

It took me a long time to convince my friend to go on the bike trip with me. We were going into British Columbia. It's grizzly country. But I've seen my share of Bruce Lee videos, so I figured I could handle it. But I admit, unzipping your tent in the morning and seeing a black bear staring in your eyes is not exactly the post card dream you were hoping for.
