If somebody was short or homely looking and got picked on in school for it, that is not their fault. Gaslighting them by saying “learn karate” or don’t let them bully you ignores that the person who got picked on did nothing to receive it.

It’s like saying a victim of sexual assault was “asking for it” instead of blaming the attacker for choosing to commit the crime. It wouldn’t change if they were not drunk or wearing conservative clothing.

Bullying is not about "fault" as the problem is entirely with the bully, not the person who is being bullied.

Rape on the other hand is a different thing entirely. 95% of the time it's alcohol, habits or clothing that mitigate the situation. Often times it's actually someone the victim knows closely and they were taken advantage of as a result. Hence rape being more difficult to convict than bullying.

Yes, it is pretty much the same thing but it is not treated as such.
Bullying is assault. It is not "kids being kids" like most school administrators think. A kid is forced against his will to spend 6 hours a day in a hostile environment and nobody will lift a finger to help. And if he squeals it will just get worse.
No wonder some kids come bak with an AK-45 and shoot the place up. It is the only way they can get some justice.
