He spent 7-8 times but it almost doubled his net worth so it brought him about 4000 times 43 million dollars, just Trump winning the election. Wonder why rich people keep spending money on politics. That CEO was alread so rich but now he looks poor. Most people can't even imagine this amount of money. That's why billionaires keep getting away with it they count on people not even understanding how much they're taking for themselves.

Over the last 30 years the wealth of the bottom 50% has barely changed at all. Only people like him benefit based on who wins the presidency. Any effect a president has on your life is just a coincidence.

I am in favor of the Eisenhower era progressive income tax on personal income. It only applied to personal income but not to earnings that people invested back into business. It kept people from accumulating too much personal wealth and encouraged business and jobs.

They take a personal loan against their business so they're constantly in debt and never even make any money as long as they don't sell their stocks. They can hire tax lawyers to make sure they will not have much income for the rest of their lives. So your idea might sound nice but in practice it means a lot of billionaires will pay 0 taxes.

It's not about faulting anyone. Tom Brady didn't become a better football player the more rings he had with age he became worse. But everybody knows that making money becomes easier the more money you have. And rich people have figured out how not to pay any taxes basically so that makes it even more distorted. The point is to balance out the effect of rich people making more and more money and taking some of that money and investing it in things that benefit everyone.

Not sure what it would take to get you to understand @lynx122 but we do no have a private sector healthcare system in America have not for many decades. We have a goverment run system using the private sector as a proxi much like how the NAZI's ran their economy.

in this case the goverment has via regulations and taxes all but removed price selection from the healthcare market so it has naturally been going up as fast as it can. Just as any product would if price were no object.

The fact that fewer and fewer people can afford the ever higher cost of entry is an unavoidable result of this goverment regulatory scheme. Either our federal and state politicians are tottaly incompetent at regulating industries or they are intending to drive everyone into their hands.

Regardless you would have to be a moron to think you would get any other result when you effectively remove price selection. Lots of our politicians are indeed morons on economics, but most all of them also want to force everyone into dependency upon them as well. (it helps them secure reelection.)

Without a real constitution to say you can't do that, they will do that and all the other things to ensure they are not accountable for almost anything they do on everything else.
