Ok so first of I’ll this is slightly a political post please be civil in respect both sides and don’t care who you voted for that said I prefer one anyway irrelevant specially because I don’t even live in the US and don’t know much about politics. Ok so I’m sitting with lunch with my dad and before lunch even starts he see my phone screen is trump with a rapper chain and a cigarette and he loses it yells at me the whole time and barely wanted to eat ruins the whole lunch in my pov I think he’s being a dick for a few reasons one I’m an adult that can make there own choices 2 it’s just a screensaver I have for joke purposes mostly. Anyway he thinks I’m terrible for having it and I’m just like it’s more for the gag of people saying whyyyyyyy? do I think he’s better then Kamala sure but I don’t think he’s good either so to conclude I think my dads a dick for yelling at me I’m not harming anyone let me hear your thoughts

Lets put it like this. A lot of people considers Trump to be fairly analogous to Hitler. I dont care if you agree with their belief or not, the fact remains that they do hold this belief very strongly.

So lets say the year is 1943. You are in the middle of suffering through WW2 and back at home you put a funny poster that glorifies Hitler on your bedroom wall. Do you think it would be strange for people to find that objectionable? Especially in the context of Hitler sparking WW2 and genocide people? What if you also said that you prefer Hitler to Churchill or something even though you say you dont like either that much.

Yeah, I think you are wrong here. Not just factually, since Trump is a horrible human being and leader but also because the people you are upsetting, such as your dad, have very real reasons to hold their beliefs

Also, what may seem "harmless" to you, may not be to another. It's no wonder your dad still thinks you're a kid, as you clearly still are.

I can understand both sides but yeah, your dad overreacted and ruined a perfectly good lunch between you just because he didn’t like the person on your lock screen. If he doesn’t like Trump then there’s a better way for him to have communicated that rather than blowing up.
