Am I in the wrong here?

Hello everyone,

I've been with my boyfriend for coming on a year. Mostly everything is great.

My one issue is his sometimes lack of communication.

So normally tonight is a night that we see each other. But a couple hours ago, I asked if he was coming over tonight and he said that he had plans with another friend.

Which is fine. Im just upset I had to ask to find that out, when it's a night we almost always hang out.

So I asked what the plan was this weekend (our days off) then. And mentioned that it makes me feel insignificant when I have to find out the day of, and only because I asked, that we will not see eachother tonight.

I said I'd appreciate being kept in the loop more. And he said that we "didn't have explicit plans" or that he would have kept me in the loop. And that he likes to sometimes "leave his plans open " for other people to ask him to do stuff.

Which again, my issue isn't him having other plans, it's the lack of telling me ahead of time.

Am I wrong to be kind of hurt? I feel like it's kind of a standing plan we have to hang out. And I DO plan around that. If both of us had the mentality to "keep plans open" I don't know how much we would see eachother.

You aren’t wrong at all , the only thing you are overlooking is the fact that you are not his top priority , so that’s up to you if you want to stay in a relationship with someone that just likes the convenience of you? Because if he truly loved and cared and valued you , you would be his top priority. From my experiences with girls’ in relationships, I no longer stay with a girl that doesn’t make me her top priority , partners’ that don’t make you their top priority , write Sucker on your head without you realizing they are , They act like you are insecure and jealous when really it has nothing to do with that , it comes down to being disrespected in your relationship, Someone that loves and cares about you will naturally treat you with respect , Selfish people do not know how to respect someone because they only care about themselves, So Don’t fall for that shit girl , I made the mistake one time before and never again , honestly it was the best decision I made for myself. There are way better people out there that will treat you like Gold , that will make you their top priority, that wear your shoes the same way they want you wearing theirs , don’t settle for someone that doesn’t make you their top priority because you are only wasting your time thinking they actually love and value you , they only like the convenience of you. Again it’s your life and your decision so I can’t tell you what to do , but my advice to you is to walk the other way and find yourself someone that actually considers your feelings Not just their own. When I finally walked away from my selfish Ex that I thought loved me like I loved her , i eventually met a girl that treated me like Gold that prioritized me the same way I did for her , and then I realized how blind I was for staying with my ex for as long as I did thinking that was love , it was t love, it was convenience, someone that truly wants to be with you doesn’t treat you like a convenience whatsoever, So if I was you I would walk the other way and go find yourself a better fish in the sea

You're just approaching this relationship from different perspectives. You obviously want "more". And he's OK with a very casual form of relationship. Talk to him about it.

Yes, you are being unreasonable. If it is a night you wish to be together, make plans in advance for that night. That way, you will know if he has other plans for that night. Take responsibility. Don't expect him to do your job.
