Am I in the wrong here?

So this guy I was involved with is now calling me a "snake."

He asked me out and told me he liked me, and then out of the blue he just texting me at weird times. He then started playing me off another girl, and because I found out he had from the other girl I told everyone what I had found out. He had been playing us off each other.

The news then got back to him, and he's now going round calling me and "snake" for telling everyone he had been playing two girls against each other. Am I in the wrong here? I just think it's cheeky of him to call ME a "snake" and act like the victim when he's the one who's been lying to both me and another girl.
