How many people who claim to be "center" truly are?

When you hear someone say that they're politically center, do you believe them? If you say you are, should people believe you?

I am an Independent in the middle of the political spectrum. I wouldn't say I'm exactly in the center since I have some liberal and some conservative beliefs.

Having said that, I hope people would believe me when I say I'm in the middle.

I'm center on most issues, but I lean slightly right. I think being center just means you can see both sides, but you still favor one view over the other.

I have been voting for Christian Democrats (center-right) and Social Democrats (center-left) pretty much 50:50 over the decades (or 45:45:10, if I include the smaller third parties).

By definition you are center to you because it is relative. You might like to define yourself as Left or Right but it is still relative to you.

If you count being close to the center as being center, then I'd say good but truly are center. I know some people on both sides that are very close to the center.
