I'm not European or American. In my country, military service is still compulsory. I said I was a transgender person, and unfortunately for me my government demanded proof and that I take the necessary steps to really become a woman.

It sounds to me you are having some hang ups over this. But if you went as far to claiming you were transgender there must be something deep in you that makes you opposed to serving your country. You most likely would make a very sub par soldier.

If I was forced into the draft, I don't think I'd be happy about it either, but i wouldn't abandon my gender lol.

War sucks and having your freedom removed sucks to. I would of considered the alternatives like jail time or defecting, or just getting on with it and serving.

I get what you mean and it sucks. I actually am transgender, but my government requires I get a specific surgery that's much more risky and extensive than the one I already got. I already look like a man, and I already function as one as well as I ever need to. Literally they just say my dick is too small for them to legally grant my gender. It's ridiculous. Ah, you're Turkish. My family was conscripted too. I left when I was too young for service. I don't know if this still works, but they were conscientious objectors and refused combat roles. After the beatings, they were given support roles. It's one option if the trans thing doesn't work out.

The duration of military service is 6 months, and we are assigned to various missions, physical training, shooting, night marching, etc. Normally we are not supposed to go to the front. We still have a draft which every 18 yr old has to sign up for and in any emergency the US could use that to draft all they need. It wasn't until the mid 70's that the US changed policy and to go with a volunteer military.
