There's this family on YouTube that does exactly this, and I'm shocked that no has called them out on it and people see them as role models.

They're trying to visit every country in the world and this is a map of all the ones they've been to so far...

If I had kids, I would never take them to dangerous countries

I'm not saying "underdevelopment" is necessarily linked to danger, but it's link to health hazards. I guess I should have clarified that. In the second link the mom talks about how they all got food poisoning in India and how one of the girls fell violently ill in Ecuador

I don't think that undeveloped is equal to dangerous... and many countries now defined as undeveloped have history places from the far past...

kids can travel and discover the world with their parents... it's a great way of showing them different places and people living their different lives... to discover the history... I personally wouldn't travel with small kids, as it's a lot of work and I'm too lazy for that :D and smaller kids (under 12) wouldn't understand as much... but teenagers are great travel buddies and their endless curiosity adds a lot to planned exploration...

and it's parents responsibility to plan everything with safety of all family members in mind...

@KostasKouvalis regarding your update - there are vaccination recommendations for countries where it's needed... also all data are openly accessible, and you can learn what foods you, as a tourist, should avoid... etc... preparation is on parents... that's for sure... but it's doesn't mean we shouldn't travel to those places... we just should be careful and prepared...

Well with some places, no amount of preparation or percautions will prevent you from getting a really bad case of the shits. I'm looking at you India. There is just no way around it. And in some countries if you can't drink the tap water, you can't drink the tap water.

Hell no, my underdeveloped backwater country relies on people bringing their kids here on holibobs.

The UK government does a list of unsafebcountries you're not recommended to visit because they're too dangerous, and ones you should take caution in. I think any parent taking their kids to these places need their head examined

Visiting underdeveloped countries is an excellent way to learn about people.

Going to dangerous countries is another story, okay to avoid them.

Please don't lump dangerous with underdeveloped... they are not the same.

I think it's irresponsible. I don't think being underdeveloped is a problem, but danger certainly is. There are ways to teach your children about other cultures and living situations without putting them at risk.

Well big surprise about food poisoning in India 😂 have you seen the food videos of that? It's horrendous. India is for sure one of the countries I would never go to even if I got a completely free trip. That family just sounds like some sort of weird nut liberal family for that.

That's one of the things I like about living in the U. S., is you can eat food from countries like that without getting sick.
