Being connected has basically become a requirement for basic living at this point. Maintaining friendships or jobs for example is increasingly becoming reliant upon the net and just like the mail service it is something that simply has to work at all times or the country collapses.
Of course it isn't. Stop conflating things that you will not die without as being required to live.
'required' means there is no way around it, not that it is highly advantageous.
You only require food, and shelter.
Water is included with food and heat with shelter to the extent you need in trade for clothing.
In this day and age? Yes, the internet is required if you want to keep a great deal of jobs. I work pizza delivery, and if it weren’t for the internet I wouldn’t know my work schedule because they don’t print the paper versions until Sunday and I don’t work on Sunday.
There are a lot of necessary things only found online including a number of banks. So yes. The great divide has long been breached.

Its basically now considered an essential service , but I dont think its " required " . but neither is electricity.
As we get more reliant on technology the internet is becoming more and more necessary to live. It's necessary for education such as university, online banking, and many other things. It's pretty difficult to live without it these days.
/i do not have internet at my summer house. Sometimes I sit in front of the library to get my emeail but I could do withoit it
Yeah, I think it is at this point. Even if you're basically a caveman, at some point, you'll need the internet to access some government or company service
the 5 basic needs of food, water, oxygen, protection and rest are still the only requirements to live
everything else is a luxury
heat would fall under protection
jobs are not one of the 5 basic needs. jobs are social constructs
then how did our ancestors survive without currency?
so you're counting the gathering of natural resources belonging to no one and transactions as currency?
none of that is accuracy because it can be obtained on your own
learn self-defense? make your own weapon/armor/shield? build your own shelter?
does everyone who gets lost in the jungle all eventually die because they're by themselves?
which still has nothing to do with currency and the internet by extension
currency nor the internet is a need. you can survive without either
what currency do chimps use? what currency did humans during hunter-gatherer times use?
if it's so necessary, why are socialists attempting to abolish currency altogether with their promises of free stuff?
currency is just a social construct and the internet is not a necessity
none of that is currency. face it dude, currency is not a need. it's just a social construct
funny because it's people like you and those on your side who have been advocating for dismantling social constructs. to dismantle capitalism and replace it socialism therefore removing currency entirely
when everything is free as per socialism, why would currency need to exist? answer that or are you too retarded to realize you want your cake and eat it too?
If you said no you're a ignorant self deluded fool. I'll die on this hill
No, people literally live without it all over the world.
IMHO, the Internet is more of a required "conveinance" than a necessity.
